just wondering why one of my posts was deleted? from teh mazda6 section?

a member was looking for some speed6 dyno graphs and i linked a page of 10 or so from another forum, as there have been no additions in the dyno section here in almost a year it seems. just trying to help out the guy. i looked at the rules, there was nothing about linking other forums?

what/why/where did the post go?

do they not read the help/feedback?

do only admin's delete posts here? i was hoping maybe an active mod could just answer me, or a random user if they have the knowledge?

your not allowed to link to other forums, especially if they are forums which contain vendors who are not authorized here

i know sometimes that's the case, but i read over the rules and didn't see anything on it....so i posted.

if that's the case, just wondering where i missed it saying that? no sent me a pm to let me know or anything either...it was just gone?

(werd) and dont panic..its not like someone stole your car tea. It is just a post. (lol2)

i'm not panicing, i just don't understand why i wouldn't be told about it? if i wasn't a mod on another site, i would have just reposted my post thinking i F'd up the first time. i checked again and still can't find anywhere it states you can't linke other threads. i emailed the admin, but still don't have any answers?

i just looked in a couple other threads, and there's links to other sites? ther's members with links to music and personal sites in their sigs? so you just can't link other mazda forums sites? this is where i'm having the issues, i wasn't told nor can i read anywhere that says i can link some sites and not others?

Generally the moderator or admin who deletes it is supposed to contact you with a brief explanation. I always do.

This applies to general posting as well.

If the link occurs in general posting with the intent to help out a member with a question, it's fine-- however, it must be in accordance with the rules above (font size, style, etc.). If it's to a autopart-related website that sells only through dealers i.e. you can't buy anything off their site, it's fine as well (rules still apply though).

So long as the links do not fit the criteria below, they are fine:

1.) Blatant referrals to unauthorized vendors
2.) To unauthorized vendors that sell products that are in direct competition with our AV's.

These create what is called a conflict of interest.

ther's members with links to music and personal sites in their sigs?

That's fine-- these are links to sites not having anything to do with directly selling auto parts in competition with our vendors. Here, the font and size rules don't apply.

so you just can't link other mazda forums sites? this is where i'm having the issues, i wasn't told nor can i read anywhere that says i can link some sites and not others?

Yes and no.

No if...

1.) The forums have vendors of their own (conflict of interest).
2.) The forums are competing for members in certain vehicle categories.
3.) The link is to a forum that we do not support due to previous (foul) business practices on this forum.

Yes if...

1.) The member is directing someone to a forum with the answer that cannot be found here (so long as it does not apply to number 3 above)

i recieved a pm from antoine, and i guess i understand

as i told him, i don't understand how i should know that the signature rules apply to posts? what if i just posted the link again....would someone just delete it, or would someone finally tell me why. i think that's my biggest issue, what's the point of just deleting it without telling the member what they should watch when posting next time.

....see my point?
