I've gotta buy a deck to replace the stock deck in my 2002 Mazda Protege. The Car's black exterior and dark grey interior, so a black-ish coloured deck would prolly work best.
I've been shopping for the decks that have mp3/cd AND sd card and usb support.
I've found the few models that interest me and wanna know if anyone else has an opinion between them...

Out of the 3, I definitely am leaning towards the 3rd one (almani's), just b/c of the dvd-mp3-disc ability.
All of the decks sit within the "under-$350" range of prices.
I'm sticking with my stock speakers for the time being. In the future I might add a custom subwoofer. I fully understand all the technical stuff, but I'm seeking a simply out-of-the-blue type of opinion from anyone who's already tinkered with other or similar decks.

So what would you go for??

I personally lean towards Blaupunkt, namely the 2nd one, but from all I've seen on Crutchfield, the Blaupunkts won't fit in the dash without modification. I have no idea though wht that modification would be though.

I have a kenwood excelon that has usb support for sale if you are interested let me know and I'll post up some pictures for you.

how did you like the excelon? What was good/bad about it?

It was a great unit. I only used it maybe 3 months. I decided to go more showboat and get the JVC AVX-1 which is a DVD player with 3" Screen built into the face of the deck. The Kenwood Excelon had a MUCH better sound quality than the stock Kenwood unit the MSP's came with.

subbing for deck ideas. Im shopping around for decks also to replace my stock one. Any suggestions??

Anybody know anything about this deck? It says it plays mp3's:

I think this is the same one that kensai has in his avatar

that looks like the like 180 dollar one my roommate has in his old camry
.. it works well. It's an 05 or 06 model, has an aux-in plug right on the back of it to hook your ipod or other player up.

mine is a 2002 model, but was 550 bucks.. it has lasted long enough to be well worth the price though :)

wow talk about thread hijacking!...

..yea looks like nobody's got anything to say about those fancy decks I was lookin at. shux, that's shiz.
