I had this in the msp section but decided to post here . thanks in advance for any help.
So i bought a not so perfect condition msp for a daily driver. After driving it for a while i decided i want to get things fixed up (oil drip, coolant leak, new tires, brakes turbo) among some other things. The turbo was not working either which i think is due to the fact that someone capped a vac line after breaking it of the boost sensor or control. The mazdaspeed dealership i take it to does all the stuff an ordinary mechanic could of and then calls me and said it will take $2500 to fix the turbo. After picking myself off of the floor and asking what the world for, he replied well since its an after market turbo we will have to replace the entire turbo system!? My reply was you are now done working on my car i will be in to pick it up!! So my question is where in north central OH other than wooster (where the mazdaspeed dealership is located) can i take my car to, that someone knows what they are doing. They were also supposed to fix e brakes which they said would be $180 in parts and $90 labor, after them telling me bout the turbo i told them to stop all work on the car. I guess they just had that left to do because service guy said hey we will split the cost on the e brake if you want us to do that yet. I guess i really dont feel like the turbo is shot. I am not much of a mechanic guy but there is a small sensor or controller that is on passenger side of engine compart close to fender/hood/firewall that a couple vac hoses were attached to. A nipple to where the one hose attaches broke off and thats what is capped off??
