I got 26000 miles on the car and my head unit is dead. Took it to the dealer and they are gonna get me a new one. Will they be able to get the SAME unit or is Mazda replacement a new radio all together? The Service manager did not know and he said he would have to wait and see. My warranty runs out in October. I thought the had not made the Kenwood unit in years...anybody know?

just happened to me too man what they do is contact kenwood and they put in the same unit but it is a rebuilt one! that blows i know my car is at 51k and i know that my unit is going to go out again hopefully i have enough $ for one when it happens

refurbished...I have had 5.

I think that might be some kind of record...

I've had mine replaced and the current one was acting cranky the other day, but the reset button fixed it. If it poops out again, I'll just get a different unit to go in there.

That's what I have done.

My current one has been fine for a year, but I'm not chancing it any more. I am out of warranty and the delaer won't replace them anymore.

I have picked up a Pioneer 6800 as a replacement.

i got out of this fight.. you can,t win.. when it broke i didn't vene take it to the dealer.. i went out and bought a sony xplode headunit with a USB port.. t that thing is the s***.. you put mp3s on a memory stick and plug it in.

same thing happened to me...26k miles s*** went dead. they just replaced it under warranty and guess what? my new one is already ****** up. i hate kenwood for sellin refurbished s***. better off buyin yourself a new one.

i think it has to do with the ribbon connecting to the headunit. if you search around, i think someone has posted how to fix it yourself. i am currently on my third head unit and i have less than 1000 miles till my warranty is up. i bet its going to **** up right when i hit 48k.
