I'm guessing I should run as fast as possible from that quote, right? I was expecting more in the $400-500 range.
Good GOD. Find an independent, that's rediculous.
the amount of labor it takes to remove teh water pump.
on the p5, it would almost be easier to pull the engine to change these parts, theres just not alot of room.
factor in that the belt is about 100 bucks, and water pump another 200, 600 in labor is roughly 6ish hours of work for a tech
my prices were just experiene from working in a dealership in parts. Thats about the average of what it should cost to determine the price he was quoted. obviously its much cheaper to go online, but hes also getting OEM mazda parts.
dealership parts prices are incredibly overpriced, but parts and service is where dealerships make 90% of their money.
95/hr is insane....most shops charge 50 and i think that is a lil insane....especially when they go by the book hours and not actual...
