Dead Stock Head Unit

So I start my car up...and the head unit doesn't turn on like it's supposed to.

I try pressing all the buttons to no avail...I'm figuring it's dead. The front face plate was broken anyways so I was planning on replacing it, but now I have no music and that is kind of a "me no likey" situation.

Anything I can maybe check? I'm going to pop the whole head unit out of the dash and check the connections and check the fuses, I just don't want to have to wait another few weeks to buy a new head unit...I'm pretty broke :)

Did you try the teensy reset button? You have to use a paperclip to push the button...

I'm on my second stock head unit...

I thought about that...I should give that little thing a push...if that would fix it, I would be a very happy camper.

If it is dead and youre out of warranty, would you want to sell it? Id take it off your hands if so. Let me know, Thanx

Actually, pressing the reset button worked (hand) so I'm a happy camper for now.

Thanks RacerXGirl

My head unit is a little more than dead. I replaced my battery over the weekend with an Optima Red Top, and the next time I started the car the faceplate didn't even flip over. Since it doesn't flip over I can't even reset it.

My first thing to try I guess is the radio fuse on the driver's side footwell. If that's ok, then it's the fuse in the head unit itself. If not that, then it's time for a new head unit I guess, although I am still under warranty.

Anyone else had this happen to them?

OK, don't know why I couldn't find this in the manual, but in the sticky on here I found where it says to push the upper left corner of the unit for three seconds. The faceplate flipped back around and works fine now.
