dead pedal over carpeting?

So instead of wearing a hole in the carpet, you're ripping the carpet off little by little each time you vacuum?

Just kidding around, but really see the irony in that ? :)

Peace!(rei)

Man, you can tear velcro apart like 50 trillion times and not lose enough fiber to matter. That's not going to wear the carpet down pulling it off of there even a few hundred times. For one, the carpet does not have a hoop fiber design so it's not pulling hoops out. If it was hoops, like berber, it would get matted down instantly and look extremely ghetto, like berber. Don't get me started. I installed that crap in college during the summers.

market village beside pmall got them for 20+ you can get better one for less than 50 bucks. The dead pedal is custom

You have the Velcro under your OEM floor mats, right?

Well mine has now made a full blown "pubic hair looking bush" out of the carpet in the spot where the Velcro is at. (puke)

I've had both good and bad with the Velcro, I'd mount it like I did screws.

Okay have a nice day :)

i've only had to remove the plate three times in over 2 years and there was no wear or irony under it.

Here is the dead pedal I installed on our 2008 Mazda5 GT. Its a Heavy-Duty Self-Adhesive Rubber Safety Step Tread Strip 4" x 17". It is made of an all-season Matte Black rubber with a raised-diamond pattern that is peel and stick. It's easy to install and an inexpensive solution that does not take up much space and protects the carpet from wear and dirt. I have the other one in another car and it is still working well after almost 10 years of use.

Can you tell me where you purchased this rubber dead pedal?

I purchased it some time ago at the local automotive shop (peepboys I think), but they long since discontinued it. Googl Rubber Safety Step Tread Strip and there are some online retailers you can order it from.
