7-1/2 yrs, 126k, turbo'd auto for the last 50k...runs like a champ! (yes) crazy!
sorry fanboyz - some of us are lurkers some of us think that others might care aboot the dumb stuff we think, so we post it to places like this. i'm here for info and i got alot over the years, so thanks for that. and yes dude (Tom03es)- top of the line oil and oem filters at 4500 miles - just like all the other cars and bikes on the list. always maintained by me and i have more than 45 years experience, so i do have a clue. low posts make me a bad guy? i never dissed your choices or mine. i just had bad luck - not a luv story - just another appliance that died for no reason, too bad. got something new - and, yes now you can hate me - civic cpe si

don't get me wrong, i'm sorry to hear about your bad luck, but jeesh, your 5th post is to tell us your leaving and it's been nice? we didn't even get to know you...you've been lurking for years and taking our advice..but never thought to post about all the info you gleaned...(uhm)..it just struck me odd that's all! wish you well, i really do!
i was just reading one of you other posts, and it reads like you never actually checked the oil level between changes, just changed it every XXXX miles? when the oil light comes on that means you're low on oil....? spun bearing mean oil starvation...you don't need to beat on a car or mod a car to have a spun bearing of the oil is low? you may have babied the car, but if you were using more oil than it did when it was new...yrs earlier, and you hadn't checked it between the changes....well...

checqued that oil at every fill up. just like my father taught me back in the day. as i do on my 120 jag, 140 jag, prius and now the civic. i'm still the only guy i've ever seen at a gas stop that openes the lid and looks at everything. people give me wierd looks now. >> so that's a check on lubricant and belts, etc. at every 250 miles since new. darned this still died !

Sorry for the loss man... happened to me about 2 years ago to the day almost. I have a replacement engine that I got from ken over @ PG a while back still available. Never got around to selling it. If anyone wants it.. just let me know. Its just been sittin in my living room. Dont want very much for it. Trying to get my post count up so I can try and sell some stuff I have in the FS thread!!
