will that polish the inside of the tip too... i can get that shiny again... or is it conna stay that black soot color?

As far as the black soot, I have box of old rags and torn socks I leave in the garage. About every other day when I get home I just wipe it(the exhaust) off with a rag while it's still hot. It comes off really easy then. Just a reference for the future.
The NevrDull should take it off for you if it's been on there for a while though. You may have to do a little scrubbing, but it's really good stuff. I use it on my exhaust on my bike and car. Also shines up polished aluminum really well if you have anything else like that. For around $5 it's tough to beat, and use SMALL pieces. Less than a cotton ball size will clean a lot of surface area. Trust me on that. It gets dirty, but it still does a good job using small pieces.
Once you buff all the crap off with the NevrDull, take a nice soft terry cloth towel and wipe off the residue and it should shine like new.
Hope it works!

Much cheaper way

Lemon juice and baking soda. Or any kind of acidic juice,..or just water and baking soda. Tha baking soda gives it just enough abrasive to scrub it off without hurting it.
