paying for a lawyer now will most likely save you money through insurance premiums in the long run.

Yeah. You can at least call a couple and see how much they're gonna charge you.
Try to find a lawyer that's local to the court so they know how that particular system works.

Yeah, thats exactly what to do. When you talk to a lawyer that is around the area of the violation, he more than likely has dealt with the prosecutor of that area, which ultimatly means he can prob work out a good deal with the prosecutor. So when you call up the probably 50 letters your got, Ask them how often they'd represented people in the area of the violation.

dont' want to be a dick but i got a warning for 145 in a 60 on the interstate on a bike once. got lucky, never done it again

Why blame the cops for something you did? You were speeding you got caught so your at fault not the cop. Sounds like this wasnt your first speeding ticket so you havent learned. Most of us speed and if we get caught pay the fine. I got a ticket for 6 miles over one time in WVA. I was from out of state so you know thats why they nailed me. But I really cant b**** becuase I was speeding. Most of my tickets (back 20 years ago) came from Ohio. I would drive to Cinc to see a reds game and get popped for doing 45 in a 30 becuase I had no clue what the speed limits were. But I paid them and didn't blame the police because i was speeding. Take some responsability for your own actions and suck it up.

dude read his ******* post
he was poking along through the 30mph zone and just starting to speed back up as he saw the 55mph sign

yeah what he said! read the previous posts where i said i would take responsibility for my actions but this was total BS.
Ill have to call around for a lawyer on monday, im leaving for vegas, cali and Az on feb 10th so i hope they schedule it after i get back from that little road rtip.

NO, I told you to put it as FAR into the future as you can
you're stupid if you want to "get this quickly over with"... just because the constitution requires that you're allowed to a "fair and speedy trial", doesn't mean you should do it! it is strategicly to YOUR advantage to put this s*** off
and yes, you can actually tell them you want to do it later... they have no problems doing that as our legal system is all booked up anyway... getting it FASTER is difficult, but that's not something you should be concerned about

Dude read his ******* post title "DAMN COPS!total BS" Seems to me he could have written DAMN ME AND MY LEAD FOOT OR DAMN MY LUCK. but in his title he blames the cops. Its always someone elses fault in this day and age. The Po-Po didnt do anything wrong

Hope you find a lawyer that will get you off (boom07) they have worked for me in the past. Until then **** the police (five-0)

pretty sure that if you can read the speed limit sign in front of you that puts you in that speed zone. IE, if you see a 55mph, and can read it, then you are in a 55 mph zone.
definately consult a lawyer.

um, no?

you have to PASS the sign retard.

If I see a 55mph sign way up in a residential 25mph, do i just start going 55mph? um, no.

doesnt work that way.

The sign is the start of the speed limit. IT may different in different places but my buddy got popped for a school zone. I think the speed limit was 25 between the blinking lights and he speed up just as you did before he reached the 35 MPH sign and he was found guilty. Talk about a fine try speeding in a school zone..lol. MOst of it depends on the judge and wether they got laid or had thier shot or two of whiskey before court to put them ina better mood.

or you can try this:

2B-14 Sign for Reduced Speed Ahead (R2-5)

This sign should be used in rural areas to inform the motorist of a reduced speed zone when an advance notice is needed to comply with the speed limit posted ahead. The sign is not ordinarily needed in urban areas where speeds are relatively low.

This sign shall always be followed by a Speed Limit sign erected at the beginning of the zone where the altered speed limit applies.

This sign shall have a standard size of 24 by 30 inches. It shall, however, be of the same size as the Speed Limit sign at the beginning of the speed zone, shall be erected in the same manner, and shall display one of the three illustrated legends.

Dude what are you talking about? Its no one elses fault, its mine, im not denying that. Im just sayin that its BS that i got a ticket for 23 OVER when i was 25 yards from the damn sign. And right after i got the ticket i called around to some other state cop posts and asked them about that situation and they ALL said that she (the cop that gave me a ticket) was being unreasonable. 23 over is worth 5 points on my lisence, i dont even have 5 total from the 6 years ive had my lisence. They suspend your lisence here after 12 pts, and if i get these it will put me to about 9. like i said originally, TOTAL BS!

mount a 75mph sign the front of your car facing you so you can always drive 75mph, even in your driveway

yea well i kinda had your ticket beat i was 27 miles over, and was pulled over by a state trooper. Our department has a thing where you can check and pay your tickets online. So i checked after a week to look at it and see how much it was gonna cost, said i got the ticket on february 14th. I got the ticket in either november or december from what i could remember. So i called up there and the lady at the front desk looked at it and said well you need to come speak to the D.A. So i got there at 7 a.m, first person in line got my number and all that. So we go in the room and speak with the D.A's assistant. She starts to tell me i cant do defensive driving but Differed Judification. I start to tell her the reason im here is that the guy put february 14th on the ticket and i didnt get it then. She said well i have no way of knowing that, so then she says wait and looks at something on there about december from when he issued it. The next thing she says is, well thats weird im gonna just dismiss it, folds it up puts it in the envelope and writes something on it and says your free to go! The was the best morning i had ever had. Then headed off to work.

yeah that is a good feeling. I drove 3 hours south once to fight a ticket that they gave me from in an airplane and i proved the cops wrong on that one and after that i was happy as hell.

And whoever said this is gonna be a old vs young arguement...i agree.
