Edit: I just noticed there is an 'Or' in that message. Software msg does not distinguish between a contract expiration or just no newer map file available. I think I will be good when the next map update rolls out.
According to Mazda's web site:Are we limited to only 3 map updates during the 3 year period? If I would have known this I would have waited until I was near the end of the 3 year period to update.
Bought mine on Amazon for $89 vs spending $500 from dealer just for an SD card. It works just fine and comes with the 3-yr map updates same as the ones from dealer. The $500 is a rip off honestly…Did you guys buy the SD card after purchase from dealer, or did dealer install the GPS SD card for you, and you bought the SD card for updates?
I purchased one a few years ago. Works great. Don't have the specific link but they are available on Ebay and Amazon for $30-35. Dealer charge is ridiculous.I was having the ghost touches and the bootloops and the other various software issues with my '16 CX-9. Car at the dealership now, they replaced the CMU (covered under Class Action) but apparently the old Nav card is causing things to glitch and I *need* a new one for a charge of roughly $550, which seems absolutely crazy. I believe they have removed the card and I do not currently have functioning maps, which I would like for my wife since car does not have CarPlay. Is it just a matter of purchasing an SD card and putting it into the system or is it much more involved? For those who have done this, any links to ones that have worked for you? Thanks in advance!
