Mazda CX-7 GT AWD
Well my lease expired yesterday, so my CX-7 is finally gone. If it weren't for the multitude of problems it would have been a great vehicle. It was fun to drive (for an SUV), lots of power, great on the highway, stereo and nav were wonderful.

I've replaced it with a BMW M Coup which is really going from one extreme to another, but I'm very happy to be back in a sports car again (330 HP, 6 MT, 8,000 RPM redline).

After 2 years of CX-7 ownership, there are only a few things I'd have wanted Mazda to offer (I wont touch on the problems I had, we'll leave that alone).

-Sport Seats - the seats in the CX-7 aren't nearly supportive enough for my liking. Sport seats with some nice side bolsters would have been a great touch.

-USB iPod integration should have been standard with at least the bose sound package, if not then with the navi package.

-Nav system should have shown all songs and folders on the screen (my previous Acura did)

-Memory settings for the power seat (not a big deal, but my girlfriend drove it a fair bit as well and it would have been a nice touch).

-this is a personal thing but I wish they would have offered white with black leather (Maybe they do now- they didn't at the time I bought).

I'm sure there are a few other features I'm forgetting, but overall the CX-7 is a really well thought-out vehicle and great value for money.

Mine is about to expire. Turned out to be a good car. No vibrations or rattling - especially in NYC and bad roads - drives perfectly like a new car after 35k miles. No check engine sign since early 2007. I've had bad rotors since new (only problem), never bothered to change em, didnt' have time - i'd down shift when slowing down on the highway so i wouldn't be on the breaks much. The delay is there, it's not turbo delay, it's just electronic pre-programming for the electronic throttle. But since I have a FWD and my front tires are wearing out, I get easy wheel spin. The turbo smoking doesn't scare me anymore, happens once a month, but may get it replaced under warranty to save the new owner trouble. Over all, good solid car and happy that it doesn't rattle over bumpy roads, no funny sounds from the motor. I have a lead foot and like holding gears w/ the tiptronic. Fixed or new turbo and the new owner should be happy for many years.
