CX-5 Wheel and Tire suggestions to reduce wheel gap?

Want to know what I should do. I am trying to decrease the overall wheelgap on my cx-5. My trim came with the 17' rims and wheels. Was wondering if I could just upgrade tires to something like 235/55r19 since it has similar wheel diameter (factory 225/65 r17) but has a bigger overall tire look. Was wondering if this would acheive the desierable look or if I should just replace rims and tires. If I could just change the tires that would be good since it saves cost from needing to change the rims.

You can't decrease wheel/fender gap by changing wheels and tires. But you can tune the wheel width and offset, along with tire choice, in tandem with lowering springs to create the look you're after.

@N7turbo documented his process on here. I think he created a thread or two on the subject. It's very in-depth and worth a look through, covers a ton of bases with good questions, answers and explanations from the community throughout.
