Custom Turbo Inlet-Fits Like Stock!

but still, i could understand 100 to 150.. but not 200
I think you would have a hard time replicating the quality of this piece.
Unless you are a certified aluminum welder with mandrel bending equipment,
powdercoating equipment and polishing equipment. You could have someone
build it for you after you designed it and then test fit and modify it to fit
properly. You do have to pay those peoples wages and pay for the materials.
I think if you would look into doing this yourself you might see how ridiculous
your $100 price sounds. I think it is funny that people who have probably
never designed or fabricated anything serious in there life decide how much
something should cost to produce based on what they want to pay solely.
I am sure you can throw some cheap thing together like the guy on the other
site that looks like crap and throws CELs. I personally have done design and
fabrication of parts in the past and don't mind paying for quality.
You know what. You get what you pay for. So go ahead and get
you some cheap thing and see how happy you are with it. I personally will
always pay for quality. It will pay off in the end.
By the way I have no affiliation with this project except as a buyer.(drive2)

Thanks Chief! I know most people here understand like you do. I will get some initial pics of the production test piece this weekend and will have it in hand for test fitting early next week. After that, I give the go-ahead to start pumping out units. They said they can have them made in a couple of days after my go-ahead.

well, i am sorry for voiceing my opinion ill unsubscribe and leave the thread alone..

speedy3 best of luck to you and your inlet..

Compared to other offerings, it's a bargain, and fits exactly in place of the stock unit, so anything you own that will connect to that, has to fit with this.
Remember, it isn't like they are going to sell some huge quantity of these things, they need to make a decent profit per unit.

Is there anyone that has had the pipe on for an extended period of time? A few weeks perhaps? Someone who ran the prototype for a while maybe?

I ask because I am very intrigued by the design of the part and the solid gains it appears to be offering.

But just like any other part, i'm waiting to hear impressions of the pipe, both first impressions and any other little things that may arise.

This isnt a jab at the quality or fitment, It looks like a well conceived piece. It's more just a precaution I take when modifying my car.

I'd like to see what at least one or two people that have had the inlet on for a few weeks have to say before I plunk down a few bills.

im currious if you can sell uncoted and unpolished at a discounted rate?

The powder coating has already been thrown in as part of the group buy, but I'm sure RPMC Motor can cut off some of the price. It's not polished, but sandblasted which is part of the manufacturer's process.

I just got word that the Authorized Vendor status of RPMC Motor Works is in almost complete and the group buy will start when it's done.....soon.

I had the prototype on my car for about a week straight and for 3 days at a time here and there. No problems at all and I really miss it now that it is sent to the manufacturer. One interesting thing I noticed was that at lower RPMs and at WOT, my knock signals (from Cobb AP) was less frequent with the prototype inlet on the car. With the stock inlet on, I got knock signals and higher valued signals more often. Not to conclude that there is a direct relationship, but it did seem it reduced knock. Honestly, I am still trying to figure this one out and need more datalogs on my laptop to understand what is going on. Currently, I have uninstalled the AP and plan to do some comparisson testing when I get the test inlet from the manufacturer. Before I do this, I have a local MS3 owner that volunteered to test fit and use the test inlet on his car for a few days. He has a Cobb SRI and that's it, so it will be quite important and interesting feedback. Hopefully, we can get him into a dyno for some more gain data.

Finally, my clutch is going out...(pissed)

email him, i already got a price.. and now i am not interested.. 5hp is not worth the amount they want..

Keep in mind boost is coming on 300 or more rpms sooner. That makes a pretty big difference in who gets the jump in a race. Could also offset the slight lag you might pick up from a new FMIC.

Could also make your engine go BOOM due to the lean spots in the lower RPM range... I would advise not to load your engine down low...

A few MS3 have already blown under these conditions... I'm not saying this will happen with the inlet pipe (two unrelated items), but I kind of don't care too much about spooling sooner, the later the better... Just want more power/torque...

Regardless, I've already ordered one... (lol2)

Anxiously awaiting the test piece! I'll post pictures as soon as I get it!

Just curious, will the piece come with all necessary documentation on how to install? I'm pretty confident it'll be an easy install, its just one less thing to worry about. Maybe its just the engineer in me speaking :)

Looking good though, I may be in on this.
