custom fmic install

yea no way am i cutting the whole thing just taking half of it like yours looks. I looked at your install pics and now i can see how you cut it and i'm going to try and do it the same way. i'll tell you what though it really makes a difference i cant give it wot cause i can feel it cutting but when i give it 75% throttle it pulls alot harder then it used to. Once i get the crash bar cut and mount the intercooler higher i'll take some pics to show everyone

any updated pics/feedback? just got my complete kit today.. installing it on saturday. hopefully it isn't too bad to put in

Fitbikes, let me know how that goes. I am still interested in the front mount, especially being in Vegas with the air temps here, even though I have the topmount. Just can't seem to spring for this quite yet.

havent cut the crash bar yet. once i get it done i'll take some pics and post them up

I installed my kit yesterday. I have the 30x8x3.5 intercooler and did NOT cut the crash bar at all. I made my own bracket using brass to hold the intercooler and will be relocating the windshield washer tank soon.. I had to remove the bottom part of the front bumper to make it fit, but i will modify it a little bit and that way I can keep my crash bar intact. The whole job took about 7.5" from start to finish.. I was getting kind of impatient near the end when I was bolting my bpv onto the flange adapter pipe and screwed something up that ended up extending the time by like 90 minutes.. overall it was not too bad.. annoying at times though.

I always find cutting the crash bar to be something absolutely insane to do. I would never remove or destroy any safety component on my car for any performance part.

Fitbikes - do you think there will be any corrosion issues by having brass touching aluminum ( dissimilar metals)? You may want to put some kind of gasket inbetween them to be safe....
