Custom Exhaust

Has anyone here had a flowmaster 60 series muffler put on their car?

I'm wanting to get one installed, but I'm not sure if it will fit and/or how it will sound.

Thanks ;)

maybe not in Canada, over here only mustang 5.0 from the 80s uses that crap!
just try to find one in any import magazine ....

Well, I only have 12 posts on these boards, but I don't think its going to get any higher after a response like that.

I asked if it would fit and how it would sound.. not for an ignorant opinion.

Thanks anyways.

Alexatwork- don't let comments like that stop you from visiting our board. As in real life, people here always have comments. Some of them are good, others are ignorant and stupid. Take the good advice you get from people, and ignore the people that make fun of you. It is your car, and whatever makes you happy, go with it. Trust me, there are more good people on this board willing to bend over backwards to help you than the bad people that thrash you.
Hell, I get s*** all the time for my graphics and other s*** on my car, calling me rice or whatever. I don't really care what they say. If they think my car belongs in a wok fried up with some soy sauce, so be it, I like it!

I'm with rmedoc. You just have to pick the people that you listen too. In different forums, its pretty obvious who is giving good information, and trying to help, and who is here to bash everyone else, every online forum is like that.

I was previously ( as in two weeks ago ) and Honda Accord owner, and was on assorted boards and it was the same.

As for your question, I had a place called Mufflertech here in Vancouver make a custom cat back for my old Toyota 4-runner, and the Accord. They put a Flowmaster on the 4 cyl Toyota, and it sounds a little hollow, I think its made to pass way more CFM. Flowmaster does have another series, 80 I think, that is geared to import engines. On their website, they have some soundbites of it on an Integra.

With the Accord I went with DC Sports muffler and resonator, and it was very low, but way too loud. It resonated bad at cruising speeds, and on long trips, even my stereo had trouble washing it out. There is someone on this board, I think in the Performance section, that has pistons/cams in HER car, and she has a Magnaflow muffler, and some video/sound clips of it on the dyno, and it sound quite nice.

My 2 Cents.

slick, thanks for the info 1fastmp5. I wanted a deep sound without the droning that comes with straight-through design mufflers.

rmedoc/03p5, thanks for that. Just kinda sucks when I post on here for the first time in 2 months and I get ripped by a board member. I think the flowmaster you were talking about was the 60, 03p5. Its designed for low-displacement imports and has a soundclip on its infopage.

I'll get pics up here of my ride soon, see what you guys think.

Later.

I went to talk to my muffler/exhaust guy about the flowmaster, and he had some new stuff in. He was showing me some stuff by the brand of Ravin.
Apparently Ravin is Midas' performance line. This might be another option. It's a full stainless setup with integrated tip (varies on which one you want).

One last question, anyone have any experience with ravin mufflers?

So I got my exhaust done...

My muffler shop got a few different mufflers together and tried each one on my car to see which sounded the best. Hands down, the Ravin (midas sister-brand) had the best sound. It was deep and not crackling at all. After it was put on, I took it on the highway where there was little-to-no droning, and under acceleration, the volume was no greater than my intake. All in all, i'm very pleased with it and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a custom setup.
