Cruising the Countryside in the Cosmo

With spring weather rolling in...I decided it would be a great time to take the Cosmo for a cruise to the countryside.

Enjoy...:D

Near a graveyard...

Scored a nearby parking spot in town...This view is common in countryside towns....Quite narrow streets with huge gutters on BOTH sides...:)

The Cosmo is lowered but luckily the frontend didn't scrape...If I get coilovers in the future...I might be able to lower a bit more without running into any issues although the current ride height seems nearly perfect. Notice that the rear suspension is compressed a bit from the parking angle providing a simulation of what the Cosmo would look like lowered even more in the rear.

A shot from up the street...Zoomed in...

Opposite view...Thankfully the driveway/parking spot meets the street nicely making it easy to backup and drive out without worrying about scraping...:)

The Cosmo chillin...I've been wanting to take a pic of the Cosmo at a raised angle like this...Came out pretty nice! (thumb)

I dig this angle...Gives the impression of an aircraft canopy..Just need to add wings and take off! :) I really dig those subtle grooves in the roof...Part styling..Part aerodynamics?

Beautifully subtle lines...See that mountain in the distance...Truly awesome view from the top! :D

This is what happens when you're blasting down the highway in the countryside...Major bug splattage!

The name says it all...

On the way back home I stopped to grab a quick bite to eat at Mickey D's...I had a double quarter pounder for the first time in years...They only recently added it to the menu here in Japan. Although Mickey D's is definitely not healthy...I get the "urge" to drop by about once every 6 months...lol

As for the drive...It was an absolute pleasure as always...From mountain passes and super smooth stretches of highway to curvy country roads...The Cosmo performed wonderfully throughout the entire trip. (2thumbs)

Well that's it for now...Thanks for taking a look!

Is it a habit to fold the side mirrors wherever you park? Unfold them for pics. Great shots otherwise!

FYI, the grooves in the roof are water gussets to help clear any water off. Have you ever noticed the RX-8 has a slight "double bubble" roof? Kind of like the bat mobile.

Side mirrors...Definitely a habit...Those suckers are quite large but I happen to dig the look of them folded back sometimes...Either way, they look good to me but I'll keep your point in mind...:D

Interesting...Never heard that before...I wonder if that's the only purpose in the case of the Cosmo..?

WHAT?!?!?! NO SITE STICKER???

blasphemy!

other than that, great pics!

Haha...I want to but I'm still thinking how best to rep the community via Project Pay2Play...I would love to go beyond decals/stickers and rep the forums in some custom way on the Cosmo! (thumb)

I did just order some site gear though...;)

Got my Mazda Forums (Mazdas247.com) Gear! :D

Thanks man...Much appreciated...Japan is a beautiful place especially if you know where to look...As for my camera...It's just my trusty ol' Canon point & shoot (IXY Digital 900 IS - Japan model)...I'd love to have a proper digital SLR someday...:D

wow, the car looks so mint.... love the scenery too

Thanks...Glad you dig both! (2thumbs)

looking good. I imagine a lot has change since I was there a couple years back. I'm planning on going back in the very near future.

The pictures are great......I lived in Japan (Osaka) for about 18 months and your pictures kinda made me homesick. I'm planning on returning shortly, only for a holiday unfortunately.
