I just purchased a 2008 CX9 Sport and a noise has started in the upper corner of the driver side windshield. It is a "cracking" noise when I am driving. The noise stops when I push my palm against the windshield but obviously this is not a solution. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance.

Hmmm. Can you check the base of the windshield to see if it is the original Mazda unit? I had a replacement windshield installed on my old 1997 Camry and hit a pothole before the adhesives had cured and had a "ticking" sound constantly over rough roads as the unibody flexed and tugged at the glass. The glass shop installed another windshield and this time I let it sit for a few hours before driving and it never occurred ever again.

It has definitely been replaced and it was done at the dealer (as the car did not have an inspection sticker when I purchased it). I am looking for them to take care of it as we speak. I will update when I receive word. Thanks for the input.

Good luck and please keep us all posted. Most likely they will have to redo the replacement with a NEW windshield. The removal process will likely damage the current one.
