For those lazy readers here is a summary:
Pro's: Seems louder then Mazdaspeed intake, as well as one piece and better weld quality. Also now I can DEFINATELY hear the turbo and blow off valve, also isn't loud while just cruzing on highway. After hour of driving engine is hot, but the intake is still cold.
Con's- Makes me want to always drive fast so I can hear it, I now want to spend all my money on Cp-e's stuff, if these are negatives.
Install time: 2 hours, including 30 min. cussing break while dealing with the stock cold air shroud.
For those willing to read:
I live near CP-E so they said that I could come and pick it up as soon as the intakes came back from the powder coater. So this morning I drive over and find their discrete location and immediately I am greeted by one of the owners Josh Adams. He introduces himself and then ask to see what color my ms3 is and then he gives me a tour instead of just giving me my intake and rushing me out. The tour starts with the viewing of the chips they have in production and the assembly area, very cool looking. We then go through the "plant" were he tells me about all of the machines, how the products are made and what research goes into them. While walking through everyone was working hard, but they took their time to introduce temselves and shake my hand. (I was very surpirsed and impressed with that) I also got to see the prototype fmic for the ms6, bov flanges being made and the greatest of all the turboback exhaust for the ms3. He then takes me to their packaging area and packs up my intake to protect it eventhough I said he didn't have too. When I got home I started to install it and I found their directions to be great. The only problem was the old cold air shroud, but they warned me about that. I then took it for a drive and noticed improved power, great turbo noises that are definately louder then the ones in elderly coffee's video, and after an hour of driving the intake was still cool to the touch. Below are some pics and I will try to make a video and post it tonite. James.
