CP-E MS6 dual exhaust may be coming

Price where? the price from earlier? Is that a definitive price though, the finalized one?

I know autoexe has that carbon fiber Short Ram Intake for like 1300?? That is ridiculous.

I need to check out the sound clips though, cause right now Its a toss up for me from the Corksport to the Magnaflow...

Hmm... i seem to recall it being more like $800 - $1000 for the AutoExe intake AND it isn't JUST a short ram. The CF gives it some shielding from the engine heat and most importantly it includes a turbo inlet pipe. So a fair comparison is CAI + ATP turbo inlet pipe.

hey I said "like" $1300, lol I couldn't remember for sure, and I only took one look at it, saw the price, and said to myself "screw that crap"

Yes I know about the wonderful properties of CF aside from it's lightness in weight. I was just saying, that's a little bit ridiculous for an intake. The turbo inlet pipe is a nice touch, but my point was I just remembered the intake being VERY expensive, and possibly the most expensive one out there? You could get a CAI and a turbo inlet pipe for less than what AutoExe wants for the intake. Although it does make the engine bay look purdy. If I had the money to blow I would probably get it for the carbon fiber and sleekness on top of the performance it may offer.

Yeah... it IS pricey. If it was $200 cheaper, it wouldn't be so bad.

As long as it's not the CPE CAI then it definitely is still cheaper, but at CPE's price you might as well spend the extra and get what you... if the AutoExe one is what you want.

Well I have a Fujita and I got that sucker for $210 (2thumbs)

I can cut that, and get an inlet pipe (or hope that one comes with the gt35r kit I hope to buy in the distant future). and fab that beyotch up and voila....

But hey like I said, if I had that extra money to blow around (like winning the lottery or 100 grand) I'd buy it.

Well that is what i meant about non-CPE CAIs...

No heat shielding still though in your plan. Some might argue about things like MAF placement and say that's why CPE's is better. Maybe, maybe not... but AutoExe is also quality and carried at Mazda dealers in Japan...

Yeah I know that, I think that's why it's so expensive... it's Dealer approved, lol.

I think the Fujita is just fine, mine hasn't thrown a CEL, and with the CAI being in the wheel, I don't really think I need any heat-shielding, do I?

Dunno. Some claim that the couple degrees a CAI gets over a short-ram make a difference in a turbocharged intercooled application. Others say that since it's all going to just get heated up again by the turbo before hitting the IC and getting cooled down. *shrug*

You've got me... unless someone's got plenty fo data of both setups, it's hard to say. Although, I suppose a modded stock-like setup would probably be the best for year round performance...

Well being as it is I can't afford to buy the AutoExe intake, and I already bought my Fujita a while ago

(which I had to take off before I dropped the car at the dealer today)

I'm thinking I'll just customize the intake setup similar to what I saw mike do.

if not I'll just use a short ram and buy or have mad a heat shield for it.

any update on this?
they are at sema this week, before they left cutting of the pipes and everything started. hopefully soon after sema production will start

UPDATE:

ATTN!!!

go buy the corksport dual haha

some people don't want the corksport dual. i love corksport, i will be buying their fmic, but not the exhaust. its a nice exhaust, its just not what i'm looking for plus its extremely loud with a downpipe.

that good to know about the corksport, I don't want TOO loud with a downpipe that it causes too much unwanted attention......... from you know who........

I called CP-E when I first saw that they posted a dual exhaust on their web page and on there they had sound clips, but the when I called the woman I talked to said that the system would be around $800-$850 for the PRE-ORDER price before they went all out on the selling. I wonder now seeing that number if its true. Has anyone else actually called them and heard same or close to same thing?

yeah someone on another forum sold his because it was loud with his downpipe, even after having a resonator welded in.
