Cost to install Motor Mounts?

:
MSP & MS3
Anyone know what a reasonable rate would be for a front and rear motor mount install on an MSP? The shop I called said it's a 2 hour job... which means almost $200 in labor! lol wtf? they only cost $90 Just wanna make sure I'm not getting hosed

Even if you don't have mechanical skills you could easily change the front, passenger side or trans mount yourself. They are all that simple. The rear takes a bit of craftiness to get at and swap out.

But your going to pay whatever the shop's labor rate is and even though the front can be swapped out in 10 minutes or less they will charge the full hour for that. Find a shop with a lower labor rate and have them do the rear only and do the front yourself if you can.

read through the install, it is not that hard

rear mount install
here is a link to the install how to for the rear mount. Did the install when my tranny was off. It is a pain, be sure to use an 18" breaker bar for dissasembly and the correct torque specs when reassembling. I managed to keep the studs on the firewall intact instead of breaking them off. It is not nearly as difficult as taking the turbo off and putting it back on.

He was using that as an example of the difficulty of the job. Uninstall/Install of the turbo is much, much more difficult than Uninstall/Install of the rear motor mount. If you follow the hints/tips the install guide suggests the install isn't that hard. Get some mechanics gloves though so you don't tear up your hands.
