Corksport Downpipe and Mid-Pipe Installed!

I think it's tolerable....but it's just gonna depend on the person I guess. Only notice it when you're sitting at a light with the windows down or maybe have air coming from outside (not recirculating the air). It's "worse" than just with a RP, for sure. I kinda like the smell, but I think it would get old after awhile, especially considering I drive this car everyday; which is why I got the high flow cat.

I don't even notice the smell with my RP on I really don't want it to smell though since this is also my dd and I'm always in traffic.

I didn't smell anything either with just a RP, but it's noticeable now. Some people just seem to make it out to be utterly horrible and I don't mind it that much really. I don't really sit in traffic that much, so I can see where it is probably a bigger deal for you. I'm getting my cat welded in when I get my cat back.

Using the stock springs...it just wasn't long enough. Maybe if you REALLY pressed hard or compressed the springs a little but my hands were already in pain from the DP install so I didn't try that.

I think the root of the problem is....the instructions/bolts are designed for the corksport downpipe and STOCK midpipe. You gotta remember their DP was out WAY before their Mid pipe...their mid pipe is actually pretty new. The stock mid pipe flanges are a lot thinner than the corksport flanges (both DP and Midpipe), so those bolts probably would fit OK with the stock mid pipe. I had the same problem iwth the mid pipe to CBE connection, but I was just able to use the longer of stock bolts.

nope zero problems...no CEL. I have a good 500 miles on it or so now.

Another 2007 with no smoking issues after dp install... Nice! I want to do this mod but am scared of that...how you think the midpope would be with stock dp and cb? Anybody tried that? Seems like it would be a safe, easy, in and out for dealership visits. Thanks, parts look great ..how much was the mid pipe?

Well, putting on a DP/MP isn't going to make the car smoke. The stock cats will just hide it. If the turbo seals are going bad, they are going bad. I was a bit worried it would start smoking after I put this on (my build date is 2/07) and then I would have to put the STOCK one back to on get warranty work. Sounded like a headache, because if I had the aftermarket parts they might refuse work, but then if I went back to stock they wouldn't be able to replicate the problem. BUT, this is a known issue by mazda, a few people have got it taken care of no problem. It's a little bit of a risk I guess, but I'd rather know now if I have leaky seals rather than later once my warranty is up or something.

Mid pipe by itself would work just fine, corksport used the stock style gaskets.

I'd recommend both DP and MP for power reasons (had just custom MP before this), but just having a Mid pipe would be nice if you have to pass emissions /warranty work etc.

ive never had to do one..not sure what all they check for. I think if they do an inspection you might fail as you did remove a cat. If you get a MP just put the stock one back in for inspections.

how long does it take to put a md pipe?? I would love to put tbe but inspections and s*** An it will take too much time to return to stock...

Sorry for the dumb questions first off.

Here they are.

Is the midpipe the same as the corksport "test pipe"?

I guess there are 2 CATS on a speed3 so do I loose a CAT doing an install of the following Corksport products.
CS down pipe, CS Test pipe and CS Cat back exhaust system?

Do I need a highflow CAT if I did the above?

am I missing anything else?

Thanks in advance for any help!
