Corksport Cold Air Box

^(lol2)

The SRI from Cobb on my MS3 seems to work well as it is, once I disconnected the battery and let it relearn how to run. It was a touch flat at very light throttles around 3000 rpm before, now that's gone. I like the idea of cold air but, like I said, I don't think this thing'll deliver it.

If I heard correctly there is a couple of degrees difference between air temp inside the box and outside, which makes a bit of a difference.

Your SRI is a hot air intake anyway. Even heat shielding is better than nothing.

You need a significant drop in temperature to make any diff at all. One or two degrees down at the inlet end won't do jack, considering most of the heating is in compression of air in the manifold. Drop 20 or 30 + degrees F and you'll start to notice some positive effects.

Even with this "hot air intake" (which came with the car, for free, anyway) my car can easily bust into the low-mid 100s in the quarter, which is indication of success to me, since my buddy's stock box speed has only hit 99.

This ain't my first forced-air car so, I have a bit of an idea how things work.
