Control Arm Shears off on a 2023 CX-50 with 2k miles

I usually don't bump older threads, but any word from the OP on root cause/resolution?

Damn, I don't get it. This would be a cheap fix for them. They need to take a class in cost/benefit accounting and customer relations!

Bumping an old thread.
Coming up on 5 months since this issue happened, any word on resolution?

I want to share the outcome of my daughter's experience with Maxda regarding the issue. There was months and months of back and forth with her and Mazda along with many visual inspections of experts. In the end, Mazda offered to buy the vehicle back from her, which they have since done. She is just glad the whole ordeal is over and has since moved on from the experiennce.

Glad she got a satisfactory resolution, but sorry she had to go through months on aggravation. Is she in another Mazda? I’d be a bit gun shy to give them a second chance.

She went with a BMW this time. Thank you!
Thanks for the update.

I also consider the ball joint on the front lower control arm is pretty weak based on recent experience from my 2016 CX-5. The LCA was bent at the ball joint location and the ball joint was damaged due to a hard hit to the curb several months ago and the entire LCA had to be replaced.

Driving a BMW is nice. But it won’t be a good long term vehicle to keep as it’s expensive to maintain or repair, and the reliability record won’t be too good. But people do want to have a BMW at least once in the life time just to satisfy his / her experience. I still have a 2000 BMW 528i and many plastic parts have deteriorated which is a total contrast to my much more reliable 1998 Honda CR-V.
