Congrats to aMaff!

I had one month left on the lease when I moved out.

Since first month's mortgage was paid I paid the rent so I didn't have anything sitting over my head that could damage me.

As for the security deposit I kind of half-assed cleaned the place and figured it was worth my $125 to just bail on it.

YMMV....

For the record, I wasn't planning on not paying it (not really how I roll), I was just curious how that scenario could / would play out.

Scott, you've always been nice. You're in my real life Top 8 (bad MySpace reference)

I think deep down I am a nice guy, I mean I'd do most anything for most people, but I tease a lot and sometimes a little below the belt, sometimes its fun, sometimes I look back as maybe not such a funny one.

Bailign on the last one is a real bad idea. I know you're not going to, but they would go after you for that money and also most likely go after a broken lease agreement which can take you up into the $3000.

yep, that's what I figured.

On a more positive note, for the first time since who knows when I was able to change my own oil. I was really excited.

It's the simple things (shrug)

Legally, in GA, it plays out somewhat like what happens to Marcellus Wallace in the basement of the pawn shop.

hmmmmmmmmm shelving you say?
I've got to get a workbench first (that will be coming soon), but shelving is right up there on the list

Actually, we could build you a workbench, too! (thumb)

MF'r I can do sturdy! You may never be able to move the damned thing, but it will be sturdy! I was a theatre tech/carpenter. If 6 fat chorus girls can't dance on it, I didn't build it!

Muff... if you have a Sam's club card that shelving I have the TV in my place is from there. You saw how sturdy it was.

As for workbench do you want it to be freestanding or built into the wall/frame?

LMAO awesome. I'm still trying to figure out what I want to do for the work bench.

Free standing would probably be easier. And no, I don't have a sams membership. I did a while back, but I wasn't saving enough by going there to make up for the membership fee. There's only so much bulk mayonnaise I can buy...

so, this week just keeps getting better.

Last Thursday I called to get all of my utilities set up. Everything went great, got all my appointments set up. 1 of those was for Bell South to do internet today between 5 and 8. Well, I got a call yesterday to confirm my appointment from 2-5. Say what? So of course, due to MY mistake (again, say what?!) I won't have internet until Friday morning, because there was 'nothing' they could do (or the guy's supervisor, or his supervisor).

Last night, my gas wasn't working. It was supposed to transfer from the old owner's account to my account today. I didn't have to be there I was told, as the guy would just have to read the meter and that was it. So I call in today because it's not working. Come to find out the previous owner actually had the gas shut off yesterday. So now, they can't just read the meter. By law, they need access to the building to turn the gas on (no idea why, apparently they didn't need access to turn it off...). And the next available appointment is Monday evening. So, no stove, no heat, no fireplace, and (I have to check on this one) probably no hot water until Monday.

I'll re-iterate: all this s*** was supposed to have been taken care of on Thursday of last week.

What the ****. This is god damned ridiculous.
