Congrats to aMaff!

Congrats on the house. Now your free time to fiddle with cars has just gone down the drain. You'll be putting in many hours working for the mortgage company maintaining their property & then some more for the homeowners assoc to keep it presentable. Now you work for 3 entities, 4 if you already have wife/kids. You'll get caught saving up for some cool parts then something will blow up around the house & there that goes. You'll have parts but no time to enjoy them due to time constraints. LOL. Just kidding, sometime it sure seems that way tho. Sometimes I get so pissed that I tell the wife that's it, we're getting a townhouse where someone else takes care of the dwelling & yardwork. It's worth it tho. After you throw 10g at siding/painting/AC/heater/roof & such it comes back a little at tax time. Good luck & make it yours. Own it or be owned!

This morning I actually managed to get Ga. Natural Gas to get me an earlier appointment. 4 phone calls later. Saturday b/w 12 and 4. Yay! I'll have heat! And hot water! And be able to wash my dishes! And cook! And shower! NO WAI!

Nice digs...I noticed you bought it (the pics thread I was asking if you rented or bought). Congrats man! LOOKS DOPE. I envy the basement & the 2 car garage.
TG for the VA loan homie. I get my house most likely when I get back...CONGRATS again!

Haven't looked through the whole thread, so sorry if you've haven't said this yet. Where at in Lawrenceville are you located at now? You might be nearby (2thumbs)

Hey thanks man. I'm actually around Herrington and Old Norcross

w00t! Yay for $20 decrease in car insurance for being a home-owner! LOL ok that's really not that much. I'm a little undwhelmed, but what can you do. It's better than nothing...

do you have your car and home insurance with the same people? that usually gives you a reduction in costs for the year too, since it's a multi-policy discount.

not yet, but I'm planning on hookin that up to see where it gets me. When I changed my address and set it from renting to homeowner, they threw me a bone. Guess they knew I'm already broke from buying a house, so they'd better not push the issue lol

For sure. I've got 3 cars and the house on there, and the discounts add up fast.

Do you bank with them? If not I would HIGHLY recommend it. My checking, savings, credit card, car loan, and mortgage are all USAA as well.

I will be expecting a nice rebate check this year from them I hope...

I haven't been, but I was just looking at it the other day. I like how their debit cards will give you points for ringing up puchases as "credit". It costs the merchant an extra 3%, so we're passing the piracy on to you!

+1 for USAA here.

I have the cheapest insurance (even with 2 cars) compared to most of my friend's at school.

They have a really cool "Deposit at Home" system as well. AFAIK one of only a few banks who do it.

It is a Java based platform using your scanner at home. You enter the $$ amount and then scan the front and back of the check... and BOOM! it's deposited. :D

Not only do you get points but you also get a % back on every "credit" purchase made.

Never once had a problem with them in the 10+ years I've been banking with them.
