Cold Air INtake!

what would be the best buy for a cold air intake for the MP5??

i was thinking about the INjen Racing Series Division intake...or the Mujen..

any suggestion for possible better intakes to purchase or should i stick with the injen or mugen??

also should i purchase a short ram with the cold air intake?

Mugen = honda parts. You'll need to find an intake that is model specific.

Seroiusly, search the forums. The info is out there.

you disconnect the cold air section, attach the filter to the rest of the tubing and VOILA, short ram.

If you do get the Injen, (which I prefer since it seems to do better in 100+ temps in stop & go traffic), don't bother trying to pull your front bumper fascia off, you can get to it from the inner fender liner no sweat.

i know mugen is honda parts, but i was on ebay and mugen came up when i searched so i guess it can be put on mazda either that it just pops up on searches.....so i guess go with injen....

anyone got any suggestions for exhaust....i wanna skunk2 cat back system but i was thinking of going with the magnaflow cat back...anyone have any better suggestions or is what i chose fine..

I have had the Injen since I got my car back in 2002. I love it, the only thing that bothers me is that it shakes around too much.

The K&N has an extra mounting point that the Injen does not.

If the K&N was out at the time I bought the Injen, I would have gone with K&N.

You can't go wrong with either.

k and n typhoon all the way. go to vividracing.com and get one for $209 with out shipping. i have it and it looks really coo, but it's not installed on my car, for i still have a warranty. it can be converted to shortram and cold air like someone previously said. its a steal for $209. just my input. injen cost a pretty penny too. im not sure what's the cheapest to find it though but vividracing definitely has the cheapest price for the typhoon.

I had a injen cai and I bought a cai from ebay for 40 bucks and didn't feel a difference one bit, you are just paying for name brand and color...and in my opinion, isn't worth it.

that's coo, it's your preference. if u want to spend 40 you can, but it doesn't bother me to spend $200+ on a name brand intake

The Injen can also be converted from CAI to SRI. I used to do it when we had storms and flooding.

Most cases thats true, but there have been incidents of AEM's or Injen's that have fitment issues. My ebay CAI (specifically "TokyoEngine") had no issues and I'm quite surprised at how far the piping is from the brake master cylinder, while the AEM and Injen are quite close to it. I think who ever made my CAI had seen how close the AEM's and Injen's got to the brake master cylinder that they used a different sized piping for where the intake connects to the throttle body. In all fairness though, I'll be buying the Injen or K&N (thanks to SlimMilkMan327 for the cheaper website to get it from) just so that I have that "name brand" even when its basically the same performance.
