I am looking into getting the access port from Cobb. However, $700 is a lot to spend on something that Ill only use once. Does anyone else have this? How big of a difference does it make?

def spend time in the ecu section of this and other forums. you'll see the latest off the shelf maps are pretty nice.

when you can tune it, or, have it tuned, i truly feel it'll unlock the real potential of this engine. they have to release the access tuner software first though ; )

Yeah the Cobb AP from my understanding has some really nice features but the HP per dollar at the moment isn't all that impressive. Worth $700.00? I'm not sure about that..

noone knows though because noone has hit the dyno with the 1.03 maps.

as much as i was skeptical of OTS maps, i am really floored at how my car feels right now with the stage2+sf 93 1.03 map...

20psi initial and holding at 19...it's very nice. early boost and has staying power.

if i knew that there were never to be an access tuner, i'd not get the AP, but the promise of the access tuner along with the surprising power of the latest maps makes it worth it.

I have beta v1.03 with downpipe and intake and I'm holding boost at 18 and spiking at 20psi. pretty impressive to me

you have good reason to be skeptical- the OTS maps have been garbage vs. the $ spent.

info started to trickle in about the betas of the 1.03. it looked like cobb spent quite a bit of time sorting those out, making a bunch of different versions over and over, testing and testing, releasing them to the public for feedback and listening.

i then saw a few threads on another mazdaspeedforum and the cobb mazdaspeed forum that convinced me that the 1.03 finals were worthy....

i have to say, they didn't lie...and i was totally ready to not feel anything viable.
