Cobb AP Discussion Thread

Finally got my AP and got it all set up today and downloaded the stage 1+mscai,tip,intercooler map and im very pleased with how my car is running it pulls very strong all through the gears glad i didnt go cheap and get the hypertech like i thought ab doing.

Im fully bolted - exhaust manifold.
The fp only dips when I boost over 18 psi.
At 20-21 I see 900something psi. Im in need of internals now.
This is just my example, and the fp needs upgrading really on a per case basis.

i would never say its on a per case basis. if you are going stage 2 upgrade the fuel pump internals and save yourself from the beginning.

i am running the autotech's, Im running a GT3071 @22psi with watermeth and i see 1779psi of fuel at 6200 rpm's.. the are great and a 30min install on anything this "must have" is always nice..

Curious... Im buying the Cobb AP next week... I have recently purchased a 3" Catless DP and the CS SRI+TI... In canada we only have 91 Octane... Is there a map that will work for me, and/or could I use octane booster (I know that s**** junk) the reliably run the 93 octane maps?

Find a Husky Oil gas station . . .

Don't you have Husky stations there? In Alberta I use Husky super/premium @ 94 octane.

But yes the AP has ots maps for lower octane.

Hey guys, I just got the AP today Install the map from COBB with Sure v2 intake: Stage1+SUR2 93. That all that mod i have. Is their anything i should be looking for and is their a another map I can use to make more power with only the intake. I'm new to this tuning s***, don't want blow my motor up...lol

Hey all,

Just recently aquired the funding for a GT3071R upgrade kit. My issue is, I live in New Brunswick with no AWD dynos, nor Mazda specialists anywhere remotely close to me. Anyone have a really good tune map for an AP I can run? or is their a company I should be contacting?

Please see my SIG for my current modifications. If someone had an awesome map that is all ready and tuned for a car very similar to this, I am more than willing to purchase it.

Thanks man, and ya im in no rush, havent ordered the kit yet, waiting on what i can find out for this problem. This is a really bad position. I live in NB and the closest AWD dyno is around Montreal, QC and theres a mazda specialiast in Ontario that I have heard of. The COBB maps seem to work great for me, and they are and out of the box kinda tune. I would imagine if someone has a vehicle with similar mods to mine dyno tuned thats working good, it would be good to run on mine. I dunno, just looking to find a solution. Zinder just PM me.

So i pulled the trigger on the BNR stage 3 turbo upgrade and the PTP fuel pump internals. So far everything works awsome. Im runningthe cobb stage 2 91oct sri+ti+tmic map, and so far its pretty close, maybe a little lean. For some reason though im only hitting 12-13psi boost. I have a few data logs here http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showthread.php?123818804-DataLogs-for-Review-PLZ

I also have some WOT logs too, but they wont upload in the cobb format for some reason. If anyone can look at them please give me your email and ill send them. The stock wastegate had two vacuum lines on it and the BNR upgraded one only had one, so i T'd off and ran that to the electronic boost selonoid. is this correct? why am i not at my usual 18psi?

My sugestion is to head over to mazdaspeedfourms . org, there are a lot of experienced tuners on that site and more information than on this board. There are some tuners that offer e-tunes for some cost and others that will do it for free. ( it is a good idea to donate to the site if you want full access to the resources available).

On another Note, i have noticed in alberta that all petro canada gas stations now offer 94 octance gas, you may want to use that if you can.

Do your logs knock? if so you need to be careful and sort that out before going WOT. You likely need a tune after the upgrades you have done, these cars don't adapt well on their own to big upgrades. I'll reply to your log thread.
