Cobb AP Discussion Thread

The stage 2 map gets rid of the cat efficiency CEL.

The only problem is that the CEL like still lights, but leaves no code.

You could try calling me, I know stuff once and while.

rich, i ******* text you and your having a bbq with your mom :P lol.
there was beer in it for the downpipe install help but instead you took the bbq. ass :P jk jk kekekeke, where my ap box @ :P.

So should i be worried about the CEL with no code behind it? Should i get a cat put in? am i overly worried? should i shut the **** up?
lol. (fight)

thanks for the input guys.

Okay, just kidding! If I were you, I wouldn't worry about the code.

On another note... maybe you should go BBQ with his mom! :D

i got especially worried when there was no code behind it, but if its nothing to worry about then i wont. too bad my stage 2 only holds 15-16 pounds :( not much more then my stage 1, but car has more SOTP power.

You SOB! :)

I'm not sure how different the Speed3 and Speed6 maps are.

My speed3 on stage2+SF is 20PSI tapering to roughly 16-17PSI by redline.

Odd how the speed3's and speed6's are tuned a bit different.

EDIT

I should mention that I am over boosting according to the Cobb notes by 1.5PSI on the peak. Tune seems strong though, with limited KR and healthy AFR.

Sorry zinger, I don't play much with ATR. I'm afraid to blow my own engine up and refuse to learn on yours :)

Speed 3's and 6's are different as one is front and one is awd on the fly in varying 'degrees', so the load values have to be quite different, under various driving conditions. The MS6 weighs something like 400lbs more (roughly, I forget atm) than the MS3 to boot.

As for the CEL... I am only familiar with a couple code numbers, but the obvious guess is that it's emissions related. I'm sure there are a specific codes for that, but maybe it's related? Just a guess.

ahhh the famous Phantom CEL.. i have one 2 lol.. i wouldnt worry about it.

haha yeah thanks. I think this weekend i am going to fix my lip, then try and make slome composit intercooler pipes. try to save some weight. as well as see how it turns out. :) then attempt to tune a little more boost out this b****.

any one figure out a fix for the phantom cel?

let us know how that piping turns out!!

ive hooked up every type of scanner to my OBDII port, to try to figure it out.. every one of them said 0 codes, but the lights illuminated on the dash.. i turned all the codes back on in the advanced parameters section of the AP, still says 0 codes after driving back and fourth to the show in NH this weekend, lights still illuminated on the dash.. My EGR is intact as well as my VCTS system, so im not sure why the light is on..

if i clear it with the AP it goes away till i restart the car and then comes back on but still reads 0 codes on all scanners.. im at a loss and so is everyone at the local shop i do all my work at while my building is being built.

lets hope its something Cobb is looking into and maybe its an error from the latest updates.

i didn't see if this was said but currently if you disable any CEL's with ATR then it will throw those phantom codes, in other words basically it disables the CEL's but the light still comes on. Cobb will be focusing on fixes this soon.

right thats what i thought was happening, but i turned every code back on and the light still illminates on the dash with 0 codes read on any scanner.. it just doesnt make sense. lets hope cobb fixes this issue soon..

This is out of the MS6 Cobb Stage 2 map notes (no notes for +SF)

hmmmmmmmm... i played with it for alittle bit today and i think i found out whats going on.. but im not 100% sure yet.. as of right now i can start the car as many times as i want and the light wont come on at all.. so its like normal ive driven it around town and the light didnt come back.. scanned it, 0 codes showed up..

i have P0421,P2006,P2009,P2187,P2188 all unchecked.. so far so good..

im gonna see what happens in a few days and if the light doesnt come back ill post up what i did.. its super easy.

also im going to be sending Cobb an email tonight on what i have done and make sure its the same fix they were looking into to solve the problem.. if not maybe they can use my information to help them..

Take apart the dash and yank the bulb for CEL. Problem solved. ;)

lol that was actually my next solution.. find the wire that runs to the light. cut it, but do so that it can be wired back up without anyone noticing..

I can do that. You forget I am an electronics tech with some micro-miniature soldering experience.

Just saying... you know...

Finally springing to get the Cobb AP. But before I do, just to make sure, as long as it is unmarried from a speed 3 everything should be fine for the speed 6 correct? Because I am buying it from a speed 3 owner on the forums.

That is correct. Just make sure to update the firmware before installing it on your car (not saying it won't work, but it's good to have it updated).

I got my Cobb AP today and loaded up stage 1 93 fucai map. LTFT are around -4/-6 .7 is the most knock ive seen so far... i am thinking about trying stage 2+ TIHFUCAI 93 v102 map.

Current mods: Fujita CAI, stock turbo inlet pipe, 3" test pipe, 3"custom catback magna flow.

Ordered: Corksport intake with turbo inlet pipe to replace my fujita.

What maps should i use with corksport?
