CO2 Spayer for you MSP

is there a switch or what? or just a full spray till the bottle is empty.

No ... this looks like that same ghetto setup that you have to go to your trunk or wherever and open the bottle for a few seconds and then manually close it. Your ass gonna look really stupid doing that.

Hey buddy ... wanna race ... ohh wait hold on ... i gotta spray down my intercooler first ... DUHHHHHHHHHH CAAAARRRRRTMAN

so did anyone get a kit or make one themselves? i can pick up a bottle, but i am not sure how or where to get a solenoid to hook up to the bottle so it will open on WOT (or when i push a botton) i do not want to manually open the bottle every time i have to use it. Also, I would like to hook a nitrous pressure gauge up that will go in a pillar pod. Will the gauge work with a co2 system? BTW-what is everyone using for the loop and line?

I made one from a paintball co2 canister... some braided line and a remote solinoid to open and close it from the drivers seat for like 80.00 ... its not installed yet ... but its not all that hard.

where did you get the solinoid from? Is it run inline or at the bottle? I dont mind opening the bottle once, but i would like to have an inline solenoid that at wot wil spray the c02, as well as have a nice little switch so i can manually spray the co2 before a run.

are u sure the solinoid can handle the psi in the paintball tank? if it can cool post a how to... but from all the solinoids i've seen it does not stay closed under that kind of PSI...

here is an experiment u can do to test it..
  • Fill the paintball tank, connect it to the ic sprayer(hoops, wires, solinoid,...)see how might it weighs.
  • Let it sit for 3-4 days...
  • weigh it again and see if its the same weight... if not u got a leak and i would not install it cuz u going to get freeze burns if it comes near ur skin

Its a solenoid from a NOS system.. Zex i beleive.

So you will have it hooked up so that whenever you want to spray you just press the button kind of deal?

Youve got it backwards.
Co2 isnt sprayed into the intercooler, its sprayed ONTO, which cools the charge temp and makes more power.
He means the intercooler is directly in front of the stock intake, so any CO2 sprayed on the intercooler could be sucked up into the intake.

Check out DEIs website below, and look at the pdf under installation. Just buy the parts listed and follow those directions, it tells you how to set it up with a solenoid, arming switch, activation switch, and a WOT switch.

When I was at Essential Speed a few weeks ago they had this setup on their RX8 with two cylinders in the trunk, looked cool but not sure what gains you can expect, did not really look to see how they had it hooked up either because I thought it was NOS until after.

One of the guys that works there is putting it on his MSP also so when he does that I am going to check it out, I know that he was putting it on his intercooler cause he showed me the package. I did not even think to ask how much it costs because I really did not have that much interest in it because it was the first I had heard of this particular setup.

I'm waiting for Nitrous Express to email me back. I asked them what all is in the Ntercooler package/kit. I figured if they're selling it for $400ish I can make it myself for around $100 (I know it can probably be done cheaper but since no one cares to write a how-to about it, I'll do it my own way)
On www.summitracing.com they have a 20ft. NOS nitrous line for less than $50... that's the cheapest stainless steel line I've found so far. I can use a 20oz co2 paintball bottle. I ***think*** I could get some hard brake lines from an autoparts store, and bend it in an rectangular oval, and drill some small holes in it. All I would then need is a valve and a selonoid. (shrug) braingfart, I'm sure I'm forgetting something else. I dunno, I'll be doing much more homework before I start.
