Clutch noise?

Anyone hear noise coming from there clutch? I have a slight scrapping noise when I engauge and dissengauge the clutch. I know that the LW flywheel will be ready soon and I have a clutch getting done as well so replacements will be here soon. But is anyone getting noise from there clutch when the car is cold?

i hear that noise alot too. you have to be listening for it, but i get it too.
i have no idea what it is.(stash)

My car is doing it. My first speed3 didn't, but this one is. I even took it the dealer, but like magic, it stopped doing it. It does it hot or cold, but only from slow starts. (Meaning I let the clutch out very slowly.) The dealer just told me not to worry about it. In a way, I am not -- if something breaks, they will fix it.

Throwout Bearing is the noise.

The Name I thing for that part that is making the noise is the throwout Bearing and yes is under warranty to change that.

last week, i was driving normally from work to house, and when i slowed down and entered my community, i started hearing louder than usual clutch noise i think. I would only happen a couple of times when i would get ready to park and would have to press or depress the clutch pedal. it was loud enough to sound like something was scratching. to stop the noise i would have to press the clutch pedal and let go. but then if i do that a couple of times after, it would eventually return. i just decided to turn off the car and wait until tomorrow morning. the next day i went to work and the sound was gone and up until this day i have not heard it anymore. it sounded like the typical clutch noise when idling, but like 4 times louder.

when i reverese is the only noise i hear...if u never have try reversing and getting a little speed then dis engaging the clutch and i hear a minor knock noise..

same here if i push the clutch in nothing but as soon as i let it out i get the noise also here it even in neutral

No noise here but I havent ever grinded the gears so maybe that would have something to do with it.

I agree with Nonopr and say it is the throw out bearing. If it is worn out on such a new car that means you may have other problems as well. Your clutch could be misaligned so I would have it checked out soon as possible or it could result in a lot more work :(

If you are replacing your clutch and flywheel soon you should get a new throw out bearing as well so that would solve your problem.

Then again, it could be one of a dozen other things that is impossible to diagnose without a road test or hearing the actual sound. Take it to the dealer if it is really worrying you.

well yeah, i know what you mean, just imagine the loudness of that noise you talkin about, but imagine that happening while just pressing and letting go the clutch pedal a couple of times, then it would maintain the noise until the clutch is pressed. but i couldnt say that the actualy sound itself was the same as mine, all i know is that its still hasn't done it again

i have a scraping noise upon engaging/disengaging the clutch - for now. the car has like 2k miles on it, so i can't imagine something is broken, like the TO bearing..? and i haven't been beating on it, either.

nobody knows what this is?

Could very well be the throw out bearing. My car started doing it right before I sold it. I did a hard burnout before a run and bam it started making the noise. It's either because these cars have dual mass flywheels, or it could be your flywheel tapping your clutch because of a seized bearing. Have it checked out, especially with 2k miles.

thanks for the reply, staples - thing is, i swear it's more of a noise within the engine bay e.g. the something tied to the pedal assembly is scraping. not sure, though. i'll have to get it looked at.

dual-mass flywheels FTL - my old car had one; swapped in a 35% lighter single mass flywheel and it was a nice improvement.
