Clunk Updates

I've already mentioned Micaspeeds fix to my dealer as another option...assuming I need it

I like the approach he's using, and it seems like a much larger effort then Mazda's. I am just worried about warranty issues, but if I can get my dealer behind me, I'll try it once he releases it assuming it's not mega $$$

My car sounded like an 87 Yugo this morning (first real cold day)...every single shock/strut/bushing whatever was not really squeaking, but crunching BAD sounds...then my windshield sounded like it was going to cave in or my dashboard fall off of whatever holds it up the whole ride to work...
I'm going to call my car "2/3rd" because I only like it for 8 months out of the year. :( Yes, I'm bitching about my car.

yeah, mine started that a few weeks ago, now it's gone. it's only during a really cold but dry type of air that it seems to happen. My mp3 was the same way. But it's only for a few weeks in the fall, and again in the spring. It might happen occassionally during the winter months if it's....dry and cold out.

That's where grease comes to play. Find the right type of grease, spray it up there, and it should go away for a while. I have not tried many types of greases though. Lithium I hear is good.

I'm getting a lithium spray for the front this upcoming weekend. Probably won't last long though before I need another spray. :(

I just let the MP3 to the dealer tonight to get the new 'E' bushing and to get the front one lube. Since it's cold over here, the front bushings are realy NOISY!

I also get the Kenwood replace because it can't read the CD correctly since a few weeks.

yes, do not put lithium spray on the bushings!!!!!! God no!!

that was only for the stuts that are squeaking.

so is there any real 'fix' for the crunch in the front? it's driving me crazy, and its not even that cold, here in IL

official fix is .... wait till it gets warm again.

you can get the front bushings replaced, but they'll do it again eventually.

I never bothered with my mp3, or my speed. I just lived with it.

I think mazda should issue a book with any new car they sell called, "Live with it, its normal; just like illness, it SHOULD go away eventually" (2thumbs) On the back cover it'll say, "Remember that Warranty...that's all we have to cover, and we're in the clear!(butt)(upyours)"

i figure it this way, might be since im on a tight budget, if its not damaging the car but it ver y minor in irritation to driver/passengers, just turn up the radio and forget it. could why im 18 and hard of hearing also.

I have over 1K on my new bushings and still no peep from the back side. I have a bumpy ride to work every morning.

It's REALLY cold and the snow has hit already. The only thing creaking is the front bushings...... after a couple miles they warm up and it goes away.

Just wanted to post an update. I will post again after 1K :D

i've had my E bushings for a little over a month too and it has been fine so fine.... no complains here

and the route i take every day includes highway driving and a bumpy ass road to my girl's house.... so its been holding up
