For a manual 08, list is $29K. That is Evo, STI, and 350 land.

You might want to double-check your numbers on the Evo and STi. The STi starts at $35k, and the Evo even higher than that. They also get very similar mileage, if we're taking that into consideration.

Hmm, that wasn't all that surprising to be honest with you. The Vette has always gotten "good" fuel economy for what it is.

(jerkit)

Yes I have and there is nothing special about it. Not compared to its competition in that price segment. We all know the 22K base is a joke, even less power and an auto...nice. That also takes into account the rebates as appleid to a base model 07. For a manual 08, list is $29K. That is Evo, STI, and 350 land.

And an engine's displacement inherently means nothing.
It does not translate directly to any worth while statistic so again, what the hell good is a 1.3L if its gets tooled on by its competition?

For $22K give me a Mazdaspeed3. Then at least you wont have to make excuses about how your "sports" car gets tooled on. Oh thats right, its AMAZING on the track.....BS.
1. No its not
2. If a car can not compete in the real world, not a friggin closed circuit road coarse (although even there it is nothing impressive) then it does not complete period. Car and Driver's Quote:
"On the track, the Mazda couldn't make up for its woeful lack of torque and posted the slowest time around the circuit."

(blah) OK. you don't like the RX-8. we get it already...jesus.

Well, I love all Mazda vehicles. Even those that hate other Mazdas which I guess I'll never understand why. To each their own. I liked my P5, but I'm in love with my 8. BTW, I don't race so it has plenty of power for me.

fwiw i average probably 20-21mpg with mixed driving. granted my car isn't a bloated pig like the new evo but i think the new one and mine are rated similarly as far as MPG goes

I'm telling you, 300 hp and the RX-8 would silence a lot of critics. Light weight and scalpel handling will only get you so far, eventually, people will ask: Where's the beef!......unless you're a lotus elise or exige, then everyone bows down to your trackday prowess
