cleaned my engine

if you read the FAQ that comes with the auto dry, it specifically states it does not strip wax

"Why are water beads not forming after I rinse? Does this strip wax?"
"Mr. Clean AutoDry Carwash does not strip wax. The sheeting action of the Dry Rinse Polymer works with the Mr. Clean AutoDry Filter so that a thin layer of de-ionized water is left on the car's surface, which will quickly evaporate, leaving a spot-free result. Next time it rains, the beads will be back -- and you get to wash again!"

I don't see how this unit could even strip wax anyway, it uses a regular car wash soap, and the water is run through a filter to strip it of harsh chemicals, similar to a drinking water purifier...

I'm surprise you don't cover any electronic parts? You just went ahead and spray simple green on the engine w/o covering? then hose it down??

I too am thinking about cleaning my engine, however I have read and heard conflicting testimonies. (dunno)

I might just use engine degreaser and a rag, even though it says to wash it off with a hose. I think I am going to play it safe and keep things contained by just treating and whipeing away.

I usually just take it to the carwash. Spray on the engine degrease, followed by high pressure soap, then rinse. Just don't spray directly into the alternator.
