Class Action Spider Cracking Suit?

I believe the class action suit is for the ghost touch issue. There is a separate Special Service Program (SSPB9) for the spider cracking that extends the warranty on the display. Here is a copy of the letter that was mailed out to affected owners:

Keep in mind that the 2018 CX-9 is not included in this program. You should still be able to use this to attempt to get the screen replaced as the affected part numbers are the same and there have been reports of screen cracking on 2018 and 2019 models as well. Additionally, the damage that occurs is identical.

Keep in mind that at this point, even if your 2018 is included in the extended warranty, the warranty period may have already expired. If this is the case, you may be able to buy the parts and have the issue fixed yourself, or by an independent shop. Click here for more information and discussion regarding the DIY fix some have attempted with success.

To let everyone know I have a 2016 cx9 signature and I received the class action letter. Not all VINS were in the recall so I called the dealer to just “try” to see if they replace. Not a chance it’s out of warranty. However I went through CueScreens.com they sell the front screen for 149 and show a video to change. I’m doing it myself I’m not paying the dealer $1500 for an easy job you can do yourself.
