As do I man no matter what happens I really hope you stay an active member on this forum!

And just replied... As always you have the answers to my questions thanks buddy my wheel and quick release according to tracking should be here on Monday I'll make a write up with pictures :D

Ever since I saw UnZipHer put an after market steering wheel in his Mazda2 I knew that is what I wanted to do. Heres a simple write up helping anyone who wants to put a wheel in their 2. :)

First things first you are going to need a new steering hub... Well if you hadn't noticed our cars do not have much aftermarket. Luckily the Mazda3 NRG steering hub fits our cars!! :D The part number for that hub is SRK-175H

Next comes the quick release, you don't need a quick release but I think they are pretty rad so i spent the extra for the NRG 2.0 quick release!

Third is the steering wheel! That is up to you as well just make sure to get a normal 6 bolt pattern wheel which is easy to find because they are everywhere!

Alright installation
First have a mazda2, all your parts, and the awareness that you are removing the steering wheel airbag... UNPLUG THE BATTERY!!!

Second gather your delicious parts and prepare for war

GOODBYE OLD WHEEL!!!

Third, there are 2 10mm bolts on the side of the scary explosive device that need to be removed!

You can see the hole on the side of the wheel there's one on the opposite side as well!

Fourth, after taking those bolts out the air bag will come off. next you must remove the 2 electrical connections behind the wheel, no pictures of the clips because it is very obvious and I wanted this airbag away from me so I was working fast!

Next thing to do is get the center bolt off of the wheel it is a 21mm bolt after that the wheel will come off freely :)

Last put the new steering hub on, it uses the same bolt you used to take off the original bolt. After the hub is secured attach your quick release then your wheel!

P.S. Sorry for lack of pictures in the end was just ready to drive if you and any questions what so ever you can reply or send me a PM the install took around 30 minutes!

What did you do about the airbag light?

Well this 2 has had 2 different racing seats in it! So for over half it's life iv'e been watching that light flash. It's really not a bother I also have a TPMS light on because when I got new wheels Firestone had to order new TPMS sensor kits I said screw that just leave them out!

I did the racecar mod, electrical tape over the flashing lights I do not want to see.
