You need one for what?

This isn't a Honda! :D

Actually I'm not sure why you need one. . .what are you trying to do?

I am turboing my P5!

It's needed for the FMU...The Rising Rate FPR...It's the one from the begi kit..same kit used by Flyin Protege!!!

I have already emailed them..and waiting for a response!

Really? My bad. . .guess that shows I don't have a BEGI / FM kit. . .whoops. . .sorry 'bout that. I have no such thing for my Vortech FMU.

a check valve? i have helped install many a FMU, none required a check valve that i remember. please enlighten me.

(crazy) ..damnit i am still a newb but i have never heard of a check valve on a fmu...damn begi making me go coocoo for cocoa puffs..

but if you really need a checkvalve for whatevere you want, you can get them in PepBoys or WesternAuto in the HELP! section

Yeah..it's a oneway check valve...For the begi risin rate fpr!

Found it..finally..at a napa..took lots of searching..

Yeah, the check valve is required on the RRFPR for our kits. It lets air bleed off on the upper side of the diaphram, but doesn't let air back in. Maybe this helps to hold steady fuel pressure by keeping the diaphram from pulsing? (shrug) Keith, help me out if I'm wrong on this one.

The check valve is what helps you maintain your adjustability. Vortech FMU's have fixed diaphrams. Meaning it will rise 6:1 (for example). You will have to purchase a kit to raise the gain.
The Begi unit is rising rate but you can adjust your base and rate manually without disc replacement.

I think it is to prevent a Leak when the car is running on vacuum, idle or cruising.
I have done this before with my Vortech FMU when I installed the Aux Fuel Pump, the car was running PIG rich (worse than 9:1) so I had to simulate a rising rate using a MBC to leak some boost from the FMU.
but after a few weeks, everything is ok, I dont know how the car adjusted itself because now without the MBC on the FMU, it runs fine 11:1.
