CHDesign Turbo Fabrication

Hey everyone I'm thinking of opening a turbo fab shop. Here is a pic of the rough setup manifolds would be car specific along Mazda, Honda, DSM, Nissan and ford product lines. All new parts and the manifold, downpipe and intercooler piping would be car specific. I would give an option of fuel of either stage one: FMU stage two: MF2 additional injector controller or Stage 3: stand alone or eManage. Intercoolers would be either new blackstone cores or the new Spearco Tube/fin cores. Manifolds would be full TIG welds with a weld el construction and 1/2" CNC flanges. The wastegate base would be a Spark Racing Wastegate with upgrades available. Let me know what you guys think The rough pic attached is my setup in the works for the protege minus manifold, downpipe and IC piping as they are at the welder/coater right now. Let me know your thoughts.

And you'll throw in a free puppy. I like this deal. Keith and Terry never said anything about a free puppy :(. Looks pretty nice.

P.S. What kind of doggy is that? Is that a Jack Russell Terrier? I'm looking for a small cute dog and that one fits the description. But it must be somewhat well behaved and nice.

Thats the CHDesign mascot my Jack Russell Terrier Parker. He has a counter part too named Lola that is about to have puppys too bad you aren' tin NC or you could get one they are both CKC and JRTCA registered :) But this isn't about my dog its about the kit! LOL

Hmmm I'm in NC, can I get a free Turbo kit, I'll pay for the puppy. My friends have 2 of them and they are hysterical together. those are some smart ass dogs too. Keep us updated on the progress. BTW are you coming to the NC meet in Charlotte?

I'm going to try and come but i'm not sure my current job is making me work mad overtime right now they are saying we will work straight up to easter so if that is true then I won't be able to make it but i'm tryin to get that weekend off we will see.

Would it be as inexpensive as your previous turbo setup?

What size turbo is that?
Is your exhaust manifold a log style or is it similar to Spool's tubular?

I will have an option of a log that will run around 250 bucks or a more tubular but not totally equal length but better than a log for about 350-400. Total cost as of right now with intercooler piping as a FMU setup will run right around 2750 for everything plus shipping the MF2 upgrade will bring you up to about 3 grand then the emanage with everythign will be about 3250 but the eManage would come tuned just would have to wire it up. My previous setup sold so cheap cause the turbo was blown the bearings were screwed in it and it was non-intercooled. This will be all new components and a full bolt on application. I may try to make a emissions friendly kit that doesn't eliminate any cats and then a full race setup that will eliminate the first cat. The downpipe I will make will be a 304 SS downpipe made with 16 gauge SS. The wastegate will be external set at 5 psi plumbed back into the downpipe not open atmosphere so sound levels will stay down and it will be fully polished the downpipe that is.....the turbo in that pic is my personal turbo the Blitz K26 very pricey unit but the kits will use a T3 with a 60 trim compressor and a 48 trim turbine or you can opt for a K26 maybe not the blitz model but the K26 is the equivilant or a T3 with a 58 trim compressor and a 38 trim turbine the blitz unit has the same turbine but a compressor similar to a 63 trim T3.

i dont get it? how does the puppy make the turbo work? just kidding.. looks good i wish i had all that stuff lying around in my house.. cus then i could put it in my car -=)

I can probably do a full IC for about 350-400 i have to work out things with my welder remember guys this is all just an idea right now I would love to start it I just have to generate enough interest in all fields not just one. The Honda guys are hard to break into since they have names like Greddy, Apex'i, XS, FMax and Drag already making kits for their cars but the other fields isn't as hard. I will keep you all updated.

Would you be making a kit for the 2001+ civics, cause then we might have to talk :)

Actually I did have that one in mind. My Wife drives a 2k1 civic its a DX but I could make the kit on her car anyways. It really wouldn't be that hard just finding a way to tap the fuel line to feed a MF2 since an FMU isn't an option with the newer civics. I may have it as a core deposit with your fuel rail where i will actually drill and tap 2 holes in teh stock fuel rail and run Aeroquip or Earls -4AN line to the extra injectors with all anodized fittings. I know that Turbo Performance is working on a kit for the 2k1 civic but has not released it yet to my knowledge but I could make one probably fairly quickly if I can get this thing rolling and have it tested and ready to ship within about 2-3 months. I could have it either intercooler or non-intercooled but I would prefer to make a intercooled kit as no one has really yet set the limits on the D17 as far as forced induction goes....i know of 2 maybe 3 turboed 2k1+ civics. SO yes that woudl be one of the cars I would develop a kit for :D

They are made with Weld El's very thick mild steel then ceramic coated I could do a 321 stainless manifold for a higher price if wanted but it would be quite a bit higher since 321 SS doesnt' come cheap.

hmm, thats interesting, any idea of price for the 2k1 civic kit? I dont have the funds now, but by summer i should have no problem putting down a deposit, if i decided to keep this car.
