Both are 23mm as stated by a few people.Only the fill plug is 23mm. The drain plug is between 10-13mm, I can't remember. It is on the bottom of the tranny so no matter what angle oil should still come out. When I changed mine I had the front of the car on jack stands and it drained fine.
Just changed my tranny oil, both the drain and fill bolts are 23mm. That Lucas stuff took me almost an hour to get in and I ended up putting the last fifth of the bottle in my engine because I couldn't get it out. The trans shifts GREAT, far smoother than before. The old oil drained very quickly and I lifted the car on jackstands.

Guess I used a different drain bolt because it definitely wasn't 23mm. I could fit the socket that I used for the drain bolt into a 23mm socket.
No winter here for you and I in FLThat Lucas oil additive is probably closer to 140 which is why it takes a while to flow. Lucas does make gear oil in both recommended weights. Good thing winter is almost over with that thick stuff in your transaxles.
Lucas recommends a 25%/75% mix http://www.lucasoil.com/pages3-2/FAQ
Plenty of times its near freezing or below during the winter here in Florida.
