Changing oil 1st time... MSP .. questions...

Bingo! This guy is dead-on. I use 10w-30...you may want something thinner in Ohio.

There's supposed to be a washer there?! I let the stealer do my first oil change and it came back with no washer. I've done every change since without.

I noticed there always seems to be a little oil on the plug, but I check it frequently and am never low.

yeah, there's a small washer/gasket there. i've read that you can get a slow leak if you don't use it, or reuse an old one. sounds like what you got. i think they're like $1 each from the dealer.

don't be afraid to search. often you'll find the answer faster than if you waited for someone to respond, and you'll get more info that you might need.

Or get a fumoto drain valve and don't worry about that dumbass washer. No tools required for my oil changes.

for the fumoto valve, do i need an adapter? Should i get one with or without nipple or is it personal preference?

No adapter necessary. I got it without the nipple. I guess if you feel like attaching a hose to the end of it, go for the nipple.

i have always used the same crush gasket or whatever they call it when changing the oil in my past numerous cars. i have never had any trouble......
