Everyone with CF hoods on their cars: Are they rock chip resistant? I live in North Idaho and rock chips are a b**** up here. I don't want to put the cash for a hood and have it looking bad in a couple of months. Thanks for the input.

CF has a thick layer of glossy type finish- i cant remember what its called, lol- its something simple.
you could just refinish it if it gets bad

Resin maybe? ;) pdhaudio83 puff puff give damnit!:D

Does anyone know if a cf hood can be painted?
I've seen them painted, looks pretty sweet, especially if it follows the lines of a hood. I don't know if I've seen it on a protege, but I know i've seen it on a 3rd gen altima (i frequent that forum too)

EDIT: imagine my sig pic, but with a CF grille and a CF hood with it painted silver on the outer parts (past the lines)

do you know if there is a special paint process because the body shop thats painting my hood can't guarantee the paint will stay...they are painting the hood as if it was fiber glass.

It will stay without a problem.
