CEL - Could it be...

Hey all, I have the below (sig) mod list. I haven't had a CEL a single day.

I just got back from Chicago - Thanksgiving trip. I am due for an oil change, possibly about 5500 miles ago (running Royal Purple so not sweating it bad - though planning this week).

Yesterday I ran to the grocery to pick up milk and fruit - the weekly stuff. On the way home my CEL came on. Fuel cap is tight, hoses all good, connections snug inside.

Does our CEL come on after a set interval for oil changes?

Not yet - just happened yesterday around 6pm. Will try to pull tonight if I can get by an AutoZone...

go find an autozone and get the code....otherwise you'll be chasin your tail in the dark

Pulled the code, it's my g/d O2 sensor - the sniffer fooling it on my DP methinks. The guy cleared the memory and it didn't come back. I haven't had a code yet with my DP - anyone have any theories on what may make it code out after 6+ months with a DP sniffer-fooler sensor on there working fine?

I had just gone to Chicago and back for Thanksgiving - I drive about 12 miles to and from work daily, down highway so not lots of city driving. We take about one 'big' trip a month, meaning over 2 hours of driving one way. I always religiously use Shell 93 v-power, and oil is Royal Purple 5w-30.

The CEL came on on my way home from the store - it's 2m away from home. Saturday after getting back from Chicago (and a nice about 85mph avg) I went nowhere - Sunday the only trip out was the store. It was about 20* warmer here than in Chicago on Sunday, and it was wet and foggy. Chicago was cold and dry Weds-Sat.

Only instance of note was after the drive up Weds night, on Thursday morning when I started my car to move it baby wouldn't turn over and cranked like a near-death battery OR some mucho-clogged injectors. When I filled up before coming home from Chicago I threw in some Chevron injector cleaner on empty tank and topped it full with 13.5 gallons of V-Power. Haven't had the stuttery start again.

Hypothesize...
