vacuum leak maybe? clean the air filter and MAF?

p0401

Im quite sure the carbon build up in these car could f up an egr. i dont even know where the egr is in this car. im going to be doing some work on the car soon and might fix it then if anone else aggrees thats what it might be.

I also get a stumble when i run the car at WOT sometimes until shift point. im hoping i dont need a new fuel pump. im going to run my ap for the first time to find out what is going on and ill do some pulls on the stock setting to see how its doing.

should wait for my airstraightener for the CAI or am i ok running the map for now until i get it?

also 1 more thing....what is this code?

IC:
U2064

thanks.

P2187 = System too lean at idle. I got that code on my 2007 Mazdaspeed 3 and they told me I needed a new fuel pump and a new ECU flash. I added the air straightener for my Mazdaspeed CAI after they fixed my car and I haven't had any issues, check engine lights, or stumbling.

Definition of Diagnostic Trouble Code U2064

This Definition of U2064 is Applied to the Following Manufacturers Mazda:

Warning Indicator Requested by Another Control Module

Here are a couple of quotes from another forum:

"Detection Condition - Receive warning light illumination request signal
Possible Cause CAN-relate module malfunction

"Has to do with the Instrument Cluster according to the manual page 09-02c-6"

"Another person with an ap got this code."

"Thanks guys..I think Ill just delete it and see if it comes back.I stopped using the V103 maps and went back to the V102 MSF SF S2 fmic map and got this code along with the P0421 at the same time."

"I got the same code, but there was no CEL. From the discussion, we determined that the code meant that there were more codes. Do you have other codes from the AP? I had some ABS codes, but that might be from my new tire install."

"Ive gotten the 0421 several times before but never the U2064 code.I may have had the u2064 code but didnt know it untill I got the 0421 cel.I cleared it so I will see if it comes back."

"Check your grounds, CAN is a very sensitive 5 volt hi low circut, check your ECM grounds clean and re-tighten them and see if it comes back, let me look up the diagnostic logic of the code and i'll tell you what it might be or its just a glitch from the piggyback."

"All this code means was the another code was thrown and the ecu requested that the CEL is turned on.....depending on the code it may take several key cycles to turn on. Or if the condition goes away u may never get a CEL"

"I have this code and the Catalytic converter code ALL the time with the 103 maps on my AP. I delete them, but they always come back. Occasionally I get an overboost code as well."

"I lost my gas cap at some gas station like 2 weeks ago and have been gettin this code ever since then cold that be wats causing it? im picking up a new one today"

"I just got two CEL's on the Stage 1+ Beta.

P2188 and U2064
Too rich at idle and warning indicator from another module. Will be discussing with Christian tomorrow."

so what does the warning indicator requested by another control module mean?

Sorry to sound ignorant but im just not getting it.

thanks for all the info though. the list was super helpful. right now all i have after clearing the codes was my tpms codes because i dont have my pressure indicators in my "new" tires.

Oh and my lean out at idle code and studdering was thrown becasue of the mazda's facotry clamps. i took apart my whole intake system to the turbo and the IC and re assembled it al and come to find out the clamp for the turbo inlet to the turbos inlet was so loose i could have pulled it right off. all tight....runs sweet now.

I understood it to be that you received more than one code at the same time so it made a U2064 code come up. I am not 100% sure but I believe that I am correct.

ahhh gotchya. i havent seen it since after i cleared it so ill keep updates on how that goes. so far no more cel's cept for the tpms. "fingers crossed"

it means its throwing multiple codes at once. doesnt mean anything really. when i was running my intake without the straightener it would throw 2187 and 0401 and my TPMS sensors because i dont have them in my current rims. with those codes being thrown at the same time (not exactly the same time) then the U2064 gets thrown. so if i have my TPMS code thrown andf then the 0401 or 2187 gets thrown with the TPMS already on display then the 2064 code will be thrown. its just saying you had a code, another got thrown on top of it. thats my understanding for the most part.

The only code I'm throwing is the U2064 code, nothing else. I doubt that Mazda would create the ECU to throw a code just because it threw other codes, unless they strongly beleive in the philosophy of "the more the better." It seems like it's mostly AP users that are getting this code, so I'm wondering if maybe it's got somethin to do with that.(dunno)

i had this code before the ap. its mostly ap owners because they can read and delete their codes.

"I got the same code, but there was no CEL. From the discussion, we determined that the code meant that there were more codes.

the only time i ever got this code was when i threw a code, when i already had a code. i have my tpms code on all the time and whenever i throw a gas recirc problem i get the u0204 code as well. when my tpms is off because i cleared it the u0204 code isnt there if another 1 gets thrown. idk. i dont think its anything to really worry about. if your truely concerned ask your local mazda dealership. im sure they can explain it to you and if they cant they will get the answer for you.
