CD player problem

Allright, this is what happened. In my Mazda Protege 2001 model, there's a cd player malfunction which I will describe in detail below.

1. I pushed the eject button
2. The cd came out (I left it in it's out position). I'll call it the out cd.
3. As I was preparing to get another cd to put into the cd player, the out cd was sucked back into the player.
4. After this, I couldn't change back to the CD mode in the console or even eject the cd, it's still in there. Even after turning the console on and off nothing changed. As it stands, I think that the cd isn't being recognized by the system since it was sucked back into the player for reasons I wish I knew.

If anyone has experienced this and has any suggestions for a solution please tell me. This is really annoying. I don't want to have to pay to fix this.

Also, I imagine that each Mazda 2001 model has the same cd player , this is a single cd player.

I don't know if I really know an answer to your problem, but my friend had a problem with an aftermarket deck he had in his truck (his CD got stuck in it). I think he ended up bringing it into the store and they had to replace the deck. If I were you I'd bring it into a dealer - I'm assuming your car is still under warranty. Sorry I can't help more! It's all good now. For some weird reason when i turned on my car a few days later it just came out.

Anyways, I find that really odd and thanks for the advice AceP5.
