PS-When I asked about the ecc hood, I wasnt asking you carbon I was referring to the "yellow warping" that pb4ugout was explaining---he was talking about the VIS hood, an dI was confused whether VIS was the company or the type of hood...In other words is VIS your hood??? Or is VIS another company that makes these hoods????

PS-now that we're talking about it, how long have you had this hood for?

Hey Carbon, did you happen to weigh the factory hood vs the new carbon fiber unit??? I'm concerned about the weight reduction vs price... I've been trying to get factory hood weight for months... thanks... (smash)

Guys need some advice.....www.customcarbons.com has a c/f hood for the 3 and its priced at $499, then I found these guys who are alot less...is there significantly different grade levels?? Why so cheap?? Check it out...

Let me know what you all think, I dont have any problem with paying more for a higher quality product, but I do have a problem with paying more for something thats not noticable....as I'm sure everyone else does...

is the underlayment of the hood carbon fiber as well or fiberglass. most companies will put a carbon fiber hood with a fiberglass frame underneath. this could be one diffrence where as one company has a fiberglass frame where the other has a carbon fiber frame.

The CF frame would be the double sided carbon fiber hood, and no mine is not double-sided. They have this on sale now for $600 or so. And I am going to measure the weight of the hood as soon as I get home(still at work).

Looks like it has been about a year (since you installed it), how's the hood holding up? And did you get your washer nozzles sorted out?

lol... this thread is sooo old!!! I will take some pictures(I have to anyways) and post it. The nozzel is fixed and now i'm thinking about getting hood pins(after a year already passed).... ;shame;

i will follow up on my hood w/ details and pics tomorrow!!!

No, I have a CF Hood and it's looked DUMB so I painted it white...
