Well... I've got 3 dearships looking out for a MSP for me.
Went looking around today, most places just have p5s, which is cool with me. Might get one if I can't get MSP when the time comes. So horray... stupid collision center didn't get my car here yesterday, that pisses me off. Only day I have off next week is wed... it better be here by then! Need to get my s*** out!

I wouldn't even bother with a p5 if you can't get a msp. If you hate srt-4's. look at the Saab 9-2X, I've heard they are going for around 20-21k. BTW, a mazdaspeed miata can be had for around the same money if you don't mind having any trunk space.

yeh... i'm also considering miata's. But ultimately I'm going to hold out to the last minute for a MSP.

eh a p5 is a nice car to have as well. It'll basically be the same as your Protege ES but with more cargo space and IMO some nicer refinements such as the bumper. It all comes down to YOU though.

Well.... update.
Insurance company is paying off my car and I will end up with $2300 extra that covers my loss from not being able to get my tires back and my springs.. plus some extra.

Test drove Sampson's (jonathon) MP3 today... have to say its quite nice and brings back memorys. I am 5-spd impaired however, I've driven autos all my life... so driving it was definetly interesting, but I'm sure I'll manage. Thanks again for your patience Jonathon and for your time! So you all may be seeing me in an MP3 soon.

Bought to leave for London monday, hope to God they get there subway and train stations in working order by then. But anywho... I get back in 10 days so I'll hopefully be in a new car soon after I get back.

I second that. I feel neutered when I drive an automatic. Not bashing automatic owners, but I'm saying once you get used to a manual, you'll miss the control everytime you drive a car that's not. (unless you have a big AMG Mercedes or a Corvette C6, then screw having to milk power. )

I learned to drive stick mostly from test driving cars when I was 17. It's a good way to learn-- most salesmen don't seem too pissed about it.

Get yourself a TWM shifter and after 2 weeks when it's broken in it's like buttah!

I commute in some of the worst traffic on the planet now and I've never once wished for an automatic. If anything, shifting calms my frustration.

Yeah, manual is definatly better than auto in every way that counts. Sampson has a nice car, and I'm glad to see you're sticking with Mazda.

Well... all in all.. he is making a very good offer. And if everything works out, I'm about 75% sure I'll be buying it. All this will be decided in due time... gotta get back from my UK trip first!

Drove Sampson's MP3 again today and I am like 90% sure thats what I will be getting. Unless some ultra ultra deal falls in my lap in the next few days, which is doubtful. His MP3 is such a good deal, I'd practically be stupid to pass it up. That thing drives sooo nicely..... anywho... you will all soon know.
