I have a pyramd pb 772 car amp, here's some specs.

- 2 channels
- approx 75 watts each true RMS
- useful if you have say, two 8" subs
- 2 ohm stable
- subwoofer cross-over is built in
- has high and low impedance imputs
- it's thermally protected
- has its own 15Amp fuse
- turns on and off with your car radio

The unit says 300 watts. I'm not entirely sure how these retards calculate 300 watts since the fuse on it is only 15 amps, 15 times 12 volts = 180 watts total (any more than that the fuse blows).
So 150 watts or 75 watts per channel is a more likely figure.

FYI, this is not something you ought to take to a car show or show off to friends. I was using it to power four 6" subs and it got the job done with pretty good quality. That and the price is 100$.

Although your fuse is a 15 amp, fuses are rated to double the amps for five seconds, so the rating on the amp is a peak rating because the fuse can handle 30 amps for up to five seconds before blowing..............just thought you would like to know..........

word, I did not know that. :p
I hate it when co's rate their amps as "peak".
what does that mean anyways? how is it measured? v^2/r ? v*i? ri^2? And besides, what really maters is the steady state power, like if I'm playing some hard core gangster rap, will I be able to get those crazy basslines for the whole song?
