what are the costs of the two turbo systems in canadian funds and what would I be looking at for a shop instal in canada...the spool and FM kit..

so on further research...can I get the spool stage 3 kit including the intercooler and everything else I need to get my boostin 8 psi for 3500 usd? because the stage one FM kit is 3595...so I believe the spool kit is way better... and cheaper?

damn exchange rate sucks!

if you are serious about purchasing a kit, i'd suggest that you ship it to somewhere in the states along the border (possibly to a relative or friend) and you go pick it up. it'll save you alot of money.... especially customs.

Dude, if the parts are made in north america, shouldn't there be no customs, only taxes?

I was expecting to open this and see a turbo when it spools up goes, aye, aye, aye, aye.....

Your are right enry, but there's the shipping, insurance cost, Customs clearance and paper work and taxes. When you send stuff via UPS or something like that, on the end, it can be expensive.

If it is send via US postal service or Canada post, there's no Customs clearance and paper work but you can't get more than $1000 Canadian ($600 US) of insurance value.

The Spool kit won't work for you in Vancouver. The primary catalyctic converter is removed in that one and you will fail the Aircare emission tests.

Also the On Board Diagnostic 2 testing will scan your vehicle for codes so that even if it passes the visual and exhaust emission tests it could have a DTC (diagnostic trouble code) that won't illuminate the SES (service engine soon) light.

Those will be history codes that will fail your vehicle.

The FM system will be the only one that may work, But it may fail the road load test due to fuel enrichment from messing with the fuel pressure regulater to offset lean run when boost comes in.

If you can't pass then you won't be able to buy car insurance.

You should e-mail FM and ask for CARB certification. (california air research board) These are close to what's required here but the standards are stricter for 2004.
