Can this work?

Hey,
In the future, i want to get the autoexe lip from DGMotorsports when the urethane version is available. But a side from just the lip, i know there were a few people who had the thoughts of adding the DGMotorsports downforcers underneath the lip as well. Does this work? I know that the downforcers just screw underneath the bumper (if you're not going with a lip) or screws underneath the lip, but will it fit around the entire side of the lip?

This is hard to describe, but the lower lip has both corners at it's lowest. Will the downforcer go all the way around these lowest ends?

If someone has this idea done and installed on their car, could you post pictures, i would love to see them.

Any input on this idea would be appreicated. Thanks.

I believe someone on this forum had the lip and asked if they should put the downforcer under it. He posted a pic of just the lip and then the lip and forcer, I cant remember who it was, but it looked mean. I'd do it. Im going to see if I can find the thread.

Wheelguruu did it. :)

I think it is enigm@ your talking about but he had the downforcers on the stock bumper and then he replaced it with an msp bumper but he did'nt have both. I don't think I have seen people with both (dunno)

You know what I think you're right. I just searched his posts. I could have swore to god someone posted it. oh well. Im sure it will turn up somewhere if its here.
I dont see why you cant do it, like mentioned above clearance issues, but that can be avioded if you drive carefully and watch for stuff on the road.

Don't see why it can't work, but I'd begin to think of those babys as scrape-protectors instead of downforcers, as they are going to scrape a lot.

MotegiMazdA - I agree, i think it would look mean, and this idea hasn't been done many times yet. However, my car is not lowered and it doesn't plan on being lowered for quite some time. Do, you think it's still going to look as good?

Natey - Auto RnD..thanks for the picture. I've seen it from previous threads, but this is not the spiltter i'm talking about. Although, i've thought of this idea, but i'm not sure where i can find fimilar pieces/ slots b/t the windspittler and lip. Or How strong is that custom piece, if i scrap or bottom out? It doesn't look too strong.

Natey - Clearance issue, even w/o lower?

uclap5 - :)

MotegiMazdA - yup, those are the ones!

Pretzellogic - I agree, i don't see why it wouldn't work either. I guess the main reason for this thread was to see if anyone else out there has both combinations for me to look at. This is soo true, the main reason i want the downforcers is to prevent scrapping the underside of the lip. But then again, the downforcers are carbon fibre. It's almost just as expensive as the lip! I don't want to scratch anything. Let's just keep it that way.

well stock height isnt too low. I dont think you would have too much of a problem. And arent the downforcers CF? They should be able to handle some damage if they are. Just watch out a little more then normal for potholes, speed bumps, steep driveways...small dogs and children...you know the routine. And yes I think it will look good even if the car remains at stock height.

That will be crazy low in my opinion. Especially for Toronto roads Limited.
You think so? Keep in mind, my car won't be lower for quite some time. I have no plans on lowering yet. I'm more worried about the add ons looking funny then good/mean w/o lower.

The downforcers can't add that much less clearance. I don't even think those downforcers are more then a 1/2" thick.

see if you cant get some specs from the company that sells them, in terms of how much they will add to your bumper. Measure it out and see if you feel comfortable with the clearance. Ive never been to Ontario, so you know the roads WAY better then I do.
